but not if one player moves it one way then next time the other player moves it back. Not sure I like this idea of any direction.

Outer Space Terrain rules include rules for two new types of terrain spaces (Cosmos spaces and Asteroid spaces). Outer Space Terrain rules should be used with the Cosmic Space Mat and other Outer Space battlefields, as specified in their map threads.

Cosmos Spaces
Cosmos spaces are 0 height.

When a non-flying figure enters a Cosmic Space they can only move in a straight line and must continue moving in this manner if they can until they either one of the following is true:
  • all of their available movement is used,
  • until they move onto a space of a different terrain type, or
  • the they cannot legally occupy the next space.

Asteroid Spaces
Any rock tile or group of rock tiles seven hexes or smaller group of rock tiles that is not attached to any other hexes and that is placed on top of a Cosmos space is considered an Asteroid space.

Asteroid spaces placed on top of Cosmos spaces are considered to be occupying those Cosmos spaces.

Exposure Damage
At the end of each round, roll one unblockable attack die for exposure damage against each figure you control occupying a Cosmos or Asteroid space. If the figure has Super Strength, it receives a wound on a blank instead of a skull.

Space Drift
Non-fixed objects, including destructible objects, figures, glyphs, obstacles, and non-fixed terrain (including Asteroid hexes and Comets) that occupy Cosmos spaces are affected by Space Drift. If the object has other objects on top of it, those objects will remain on the object and be moved with it.

After rolling for Exposure Damage at the end of each round, following initiative order, players must take turns moving any non-fixed objects affected by Space Drift up to two spaces each in any direction.

Each non-fixed object may only be moved by Space Drift once each round, must be moved as many spaces as possible, and must end this move on a Cosmos space.

If a terrain hex is moved next to another terrain hex this way, they should be joined together. This may result in a non-fixed object becoming fixed terrain.
I still would prefer Gravitational Pull to Space Drift mainly for the fact that there is more rigger around where the objects are moved to & you can't end up with the same object moving backwards & forwards or in circles.

Your mechanism for SD helps the previously questionable part of Gravitational Pull like below.

Quote:
Gravitational Pull
Non-fixed objects, including destructible objects, figures, glyphs, obstacles, and non-fixed terrain (including Asteroid hexes and Comets) that occupy Cosmos spaces are affected by Gravitational Pull. If the object has other objects on top of it, those objects will remain on the object and be moved with it.

After rolling for Exposure Damage at the end of each round, following initiative order, players must take turns moving any non-fixed objects affected by Space Drift up to two spaces. The object must end it's movement on a cosmic space that is closer to the nearest non-cosmic space. If one or more non-cosmic spaces are equidistant from the moving object, the player moving the object decides which space it should move closer to.

Each non-fixed object may only be moved by Gravitational Pull once each round, must be moved as many spaces as possible.

If a terrain hex is moved next to another terrain hex this way, they should be joined together. This may result in a non-fixed object becoming fixed terrain.
Can we have a quick poll on the 2 (Space Drift or Gravitational Pull) before moving forward?
