If you jump right from a classic-y bully Flash Thompson right up to the superhero version, it's probably a bit weird. But he was slowly developed over the years, to the point where it made a surprising amount of sense for him to be a superhero.

He's always been Spider-Man's #1 Fan, and Spidey gave him a strong role model that led him to grow into a better person than he would have otherwise been. So he grew up to be a surprisingly decent dude and a pretty strong friend to Peter.

Flash becoming Venom adds an extra, really compelling layer to the Flash-Peter dynamic, and I love the corrupted wish fulfillment of Flash becoming a version of his idol, but in this slightly twisted way.

Yeah, the more I think about it, it does kind of make sense. Flash did sort of develop from 'generic asshat who idolises Spidey' in Series One to 'generally decent guy who's not really the brightest bulb in the box' come Series Four, so I can buy it.

Units: Flash!: Agent Flash (240), Wally Flash (280), Geezer Flash (220), Ms. Marvel (350), Skrull Infiltrator x1 (1) (10) - 1100 total vs A-Ah!: Amazo (700), Allen the Alien (400)- 1100 total

Game Summary:

Since Jay lets you kind-a sort-a sneak in an extra Avenger for Carol, I figured I'd try Venom in that role as he wants his own OMs anyway. Ultimately, he wasn't really enough of a toolbox to justify the trick here, but he and Jay where able to handle Allen pretty effectively in the end game. Not much else to say, pretty straight forward slug-fest here.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 4 wounds on Allen
• Symbiote Rage 3: Basically let him 'keep pace' with Allen's escalating defense to a degree, ended up letting him take him out in one very lucky blow.
• Double Shot: Used early on against Allen to no avail, which was really a good thing in retrospect.
• Swing Line 3: Never really came up.
• Damage Taken: Took 3 wounds from Allen over two attacks, conveniently setting him up for maximum damage.

Result: Flash lives, but he only has 2 life left to save the Earth!

Map: Island Plane Crash (No E-Glyph)
Units: He's a Miraclo: Flash (240), Commander Rodgers (260), Hourman (190), Jessie Bell (310), Nebula (240), Bucky (60)- 1300 total vs King of the Impossible: Impossible Man (430), Mr. F (235), Sue (215), Thing (325), Wasp (50), Lightspeed (40)- 1295 total

Game Summary:

Not anything too complex here, Venom's army is just a bunch of beefy peeps and their bonding options. They were a little light on answers for Sue's super-Raelin powers, but that did give Nebula plenty of turns at least. After a lot of generic smashing into each other, Flash actually ended up the last man standing on his team again... until Impossible Man hit a lucky roll to mimic Flash's Symbiote Rage to take him out.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 2 wounds to Reed, 2 to Thing, 3 to Impossible Man.
• Symbiote Rage 3: Started coming up later in the game, manged to finish off Thing thanks to it and cut pretty deep into Impossible Man.
• Double Shot: Always available, used quite a bit against Reed as it was his teams' best option for avoiding Rubber Wrap and still doing damage.
• Swing Line 3: Let him dip out of engagements a few times, and get Double Shots, which was a big reason he was still alive at the end game.
• Damage Taken: Took 3 wounds from Thing, pulverized by Impossible Man after his symbiote was 'borrowed'.

Result: Impossible Man impossibly remains as emperor of the hour with 2 life.

Overall:I'd say he's just a man, with a man's courage and a solid amount of attack potential. Not much to say really, he's not exactly a complex or tricky design outside of working around Double Shot's OM requirement, I think he felt fine.
