When you've had something for six years but it doesn't feel like it's been that long, it just means you're getting old. Welcome to the club.

Ah, you've just made my day. Surpised that this game has been around for only 7 years and its hard to keep track of.

Re: When was Heroscape originally released... Not 2004?

Sorry, Collossus, 2004. I bought Scape cause I saw it advertised on Cartoon Network. My son was 14 months old at the time, so I remeber it well.

Guess I'm getting back into Scape

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://heroscape.net
July 10, 2004 is the earliest date for heroscape.net, a fan site that preceded the original launch date and would show up #1 on google before the official site.

http://boardgame.geekdo.com/boardgam...f-the-valkyrie
Rise of the Valkyrie released 2004.

http://boardgame.geekdo.com/boardgam...ddons-prophecy
Wave 1 released 2004.

It was either released in 2004 as is widely stated, or there is a case of collective amnesia, and only a few are immune. Memory is a funny thing. We "remember" all kinds of things.

Re: When was Heroscape originally released... Not 2004?

I bought my first box of Rotv in Oct. 2004 from Toys r 'us. I saw the set up on the shelf in a case, and was like wow this game looks so cool. My friend was with me and said this looks like fun. So, I started with the Rotv set then the next week bought wave 1. Then the addiction began! As we say the rest is History!

Well the more pressing problem Collossus has is that he clearly can't remember when he was married

...not sure what you're apologizing for; I picked up my first RotV in March 2005. Perhaps he's thinking of HeroQuest...which I got back in 91, and still own. There's a cool thread somewhere here that shows the lineage of the characters used in the game; kinda makes me wish I picked up BattleMasters when I had the chance, way back when. I've also got Shogun (well, Samurai Swords), which is where the majority of the samurai in HS came from. It's got a pretty cool lineage, and it appears that HS has outlived all the games that became its 'parts'.

Mystery solved. I think we can all attest to the truth of this statement. Memorable first post, though. Welcome to the site, Collossus!
Yep. For years I was convinced my sister and I got into a big fight on the playground of my elementary school ... until I finally realized it was all a dream that I'd had and was misremembering as actual events ...

BattleMasters was a lot of fun ... but my best friend always stacked the Mighty Cannon deck. Such a jerk ...

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: When was Heroscape originally released... Not 2004?

Now that we have solidly established that Heroscape was started in 2004, when was it ended? Some of us are having trouble with that. Some say it stopped production is 2017 but I think it kept going through 2021. I know we kept it in stock at my game store till it shut down in 2022. My wife and 2 adopted kids still love to play it as well as the Vulcan exchange student who is finallly learning english.

Way to necro, lafleurhero.
