Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
I'm not sure I like the figure... it looks kinda cartoony. But maybe it looks better in person.
"Precise" feels like the wrong personality for the unit. I don't like that Viha's stats are so good all-around, but you're going for a Demigod so it makes sense. Just in general units without specific strengths or weaknesses tend to be dull, and I don't see anything in particular about his power that makes him any more than a "walk up and hit things" unit. No real decision points, since his multiattack is unrestricted, his attack power is fine, and his defense is great. The fact that he's not fast makes it worse, if anything, as he won't have a lot of options for getting into the fray. Just step up and roll dice. "Whirling Assault" is too close to "Whirlwind Assault" as a name, but the idea is fine. The limit of six attacks is unnecessary and cumbersome; along with rolling lots of attack and defense dice and a d20 you need to remember that you've attacked four, five, six times. Both the roll and the wounding restriction and the fact that so may attacks will likely already kill off everything adjacent to him means the limit will almost always be meaningless. Just let it be infinite. |

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
The figure might be better when framed as Animata? It would fit with Einar's Sentinels of Grax and sort of explain how flamboyant it is.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Is Viha Ulb T'zha supposed to be double or single-spaced? It looks like a single to me, but it could just be the picture.
I agree that he wouldn't seem too out of place with the Sentinels of Grax, though framing him as a Demigod doesn't particularly bother me either (other than the fact that Heracles is practically a demigod but was called a Human). What planet is he from? Whirling Assault seems somewhat unnecessary to me. It would be much simpler to just reuse Whirlwind Assault, or to cut out some of the restrictions. Either letting him attack again after successfully inflicting a wound or having just the D20 roll decide would feel a lot cleaner and more straightforward. In any case, Scytale is right that an upper limit of six attacks will almost never come into play. Proud Member of Platyfly!

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Yeah Heracles being human was sort of an oddity. The species is somewhat unimportant as a placeholder in this case unless I changed it to something like Demon which would effect a lot of things in development right now.
I agree that the several d20 rolls to get more attacks could be a tad excessive rolling over and over. I questioned whether giving him just Sextuple attacks would be overkill? Likely have to reduce his main attack, as six attacks of 4 seems brutal for one order marker. The figure is a large base but I'd likely peanut him as his feet are far enough apart to do so. |

I like the d20 roll to attack again well enough; it makes him more unpredictable, which is the design's only interesting feature right now. But also requiring that he inflicted a wound is excessive; just adjust the d20 roll if frequency is the issue. |

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Another concept I've been tinkering with.
NAME=SULUAZUA GENERAL = AQUILLA PLANET = TORIL SPECIES = ELEMENTAL UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CONSTRUCT PERSONALITY = RESOLUTE SIZE/HEIGHT = LARGE 7 LIFE = 6 MOVE = 4 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 110 IRRIGATION All land spaces within 1 space of Suluaza that are no more than 5 levels above or below Suluaza's base are considered water spaces. WATER SUPREMACY While Suluaza is on a water space, add 2 to its Attack and Defense. FLOODING WAVE If Suluaza ends its normal movement on a water space, you may immediately place it on any empty same-level water space within 5 spaces. If Suluaza is engaged when it starts its Flooding Wave, it will not take any leaving engagement attacks. After Suluaza uses Flooding Wave, you may choose one small or medium figure adjacent to it. Roll 2 attack dice as unblockable on that figure. |

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
I don't really get it. Since Suluazua converts all nearby land spaces to water, Suluazua will almost always be on water (except when on shadow or molten lava). So it will almost always be able to use Water Supremacy, which seems mostly redundant. It will also almost get to use Flooding Wave wave as well. Seems extremely strong for 110.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Correct. Any "flat" tile makes it non-land.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Technically it’s adjacent spaces that are converted to water not his own space but perhaps that’s not specific by placement and “within”rules elsewhere? The idea was to benefit lesser water elementals as if they were a mini faction. Really though compared to Avernus that gets to try and burn things every movement Sul just hits one after its move. Again how the intention if he power may be off from what is written.

Re: The Pre-SoV Workshop
Hmmm... thematically you're right. I stole the power partially off a C3V concept so I'm curious how that was intended to work. Well even then the target space of Flooding Wave would need to be a water space on the same level to even use the power before you do I would think. So if his space was water by Irrigation he'd still be limited to only using Flooding Wave if the space that was up to 5 away was already water. Again unless I'm missing my mark.
I also have another version that did the wave and hit all adjacent small and medium figures with 1 unblockable die. That in playtesting seems more close to a wave as opposed to a blast of water. I'd have to further playtest either version to get an idea of its power level. Water Supremacy may be too strong with 6 life so that may need to be reduced. |
