Public Themed Booster Voting (Allies & Sidekicks)
Bats suggested we Public members make a thread and vote on what we would want the themed boosters to be. I have no idea how many boosters they'd let us keep open at a time (I'd say 2 would be ideal, and 3 the max), but I thought we could have some discussion.
So I thought it could work like this: Whenever a booster is complete, we can vote on what we'd like to see next (booster wise). All Sidekicks and Allies get 1 vote. Majority wins. Ties would go to the Heroes, or maybe a selected ERB member. Public Themed Boosters in progress: 1. Aliens & Androids 2. (tba) 3. (tba) Heroes, please take a look at this and make sure it all looks kosher! Bats suggested Sidekicks making the proposals, but unless it really becomes an issue, I'd rather keep this open for all voices (at least to begin with). Allies & Sidekicks: Please, whenever voting, put your vote in bold. Other C3G Members: Even if you don't get an official vote, we'd love to hear your opinions! So go ahead and comment! General Public: Hey, we're making these for you! By all means, if you have a strong interest, make yourself heard! Once again, final say is with the Heroes (we can't necessarily design the character you want without Hero permission), but we want your opinons, suggestions, and encouragement! |

Re: Public Themed Booster Voting (Allies & Sidekicks)
My vote is for each person designing to design their own booster, so that if we do themed boosters, it's up to everyone individually if they want to.
No themed boosters. |

Theamed Boosters starting after Aliens and Androids. Then we should have:
Thought about it more and now agree with Scape and LP. More ideas will come in with non-themed boosters. Therefore more fun boosters. Last edited by LordEsenwienIV; July 27th, 2011 at 08:03 PM. |

Re: Public Themed Booster Voting (Allies & Sidekicks)
No Themed Boosters. The reason I don't post many designs is because I can't pull something I think is good from my write-ups to post, I need to find something that fits a theme, or more frequently, make something entirely new.
Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: Public Themed Booster Voting (Allies & Sidekicks)
I'm pretty much in favor of what we've been doing so far. One themed booster open at a time, theme decided whenever the last one ends. But I'm easy to please, so if we want to change things, I won't stand in anyone's way.

Re: Public Themed Booster Voting (Allies & Sidekicks)
I'm not C3G, but I'm what you may call "interested public".
I think that allowing people to do whatever they want will increase both participation and quality of work. And yall could still do themed boosters as well. Just save up the designs until y'all have enough for some themed boosters and such. Again, just interested public; take it or leave it, no feelings hurt! |

See, while I do want people to design the figures they want, I think that putting limitations on people is what produces really GREAT designs. I came up with the Ronan design initially because we needed a Kree hero, and with some tweaking and help from quozl, I think it's my best LD yet. Hush is amazingly cool, and we pretty much just picked him off of a "what Batman villains HAVEN'T we done?" list. Forcing people to think outside of the box will bring in some wild ideas, and the best concepts in C3G history have been the most "out there." JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

However, take designs like Flash and Wolverine. One of Spidey's all time favorite character's from DC is Flash, and the same for Hahma and Wolverine, Dare Devil, and Punisher. All of those designs are together C3G's best designs because of Passion, interest, understanding, excitement, zeal, personal reward, etc. All things that are not usually achieved through socialism or in this case, forced labor/reward. |

BUT, if we want to please everyone, I have an idea that I can't believe I haven't seen mentioned yet. 1 Themed Booster and one A La Carte booster at the same time. Both problems solved. |

Passion, zeal, understanding, so on, so forth - all good to have, no argument. But I think characters where one person is DETERMINED to design them and others are less interested would harm the project more than help. You need a group effort, where different people can contribute different things from different angles, and I imagine we'd see less of that with more individual-centric design choices.
