Character Bio - The Venom symbiote made its way to Earth with the unwitting assistance of Spider-Man, who thought it was just a fancy set of threads. Since the truth came out and it parted ways with Peter Parker, it has bonded with a number of individuals, but is best known for its partnership with Eddie Brock.

SYMBIOSIS
After taking a turn with Venom, you may place Venom on the card of an adjacent Unique Hero that is not an Android, Construct, or Symbiote and has not previously been Venom's Host. While Venom is on that card, that Hero is considered Venom's Host. Venom's Host has the species of Symbiote and the Super Strength special power in addition to what is listed on its card, and adds 1 to its Move and Attack numbers. Venom will not take leaving engagement attacks when placed with Symbiosis.

ASSERTING CONTROL
After revealing an Order Marker on this card and instead of taking a turn with Venom, if you control Venom's Host, take a turn with it. If you do not control Venom's Host, remove all Order Markers from its card, take control of it, and take a turn with it. When Venom is destroyed or removed from the Host's card, return control of that Hero to the player that controlled it at the start of the game.

LOSING CONTROL 7
At the end of each of your turns, if you control Venom's Host, you must roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 7 or lower, place Venom on an empty space as close to the Host as possible.

Doing a little editing; partially because the tweak to Losing Control suggested by LP let me simplify the second power a bit, partially to handle edge cases like Doctor Strange (II) killing Venom while he's on a card, partially in response to questions from redstang, partially because I realized the first power didn't address LEAs.

How's this read? Think it's still okay length-wise (though I'd appreciate getting double-checked on that).

This is a little concerning.

In a 3-player game, suppose Player A controls "Hero"
During the game, Player B takes permanent control of "Hero"
Later during the game, Player C uses Symbiosis on "Hero"
When Venom comes off the card of "Hero", "Hero" returns to Player A?

How about

"return control of that Hero to the player who controlled it before it was Venom's Host."

Yeah, right now you can. Hadn't pulled the trigger yet, but we were talking about restricting that in the LCW, to prevent annoying 1v1 scenarios dragging the game out. (EDIT: Though technically if it's a straight up-and-down 1v1 endgame, Venom would lose when he left the battlefield. But situations that are almost that could be annoying)

Also, it's belatedly occurring to me that this is kinda-sorta technically a mod - nothing major, but the mini comes in a little containment canister and I cut him out of there.

So I think that tweak would look like this:

Venom's Host has the name, species and personality listed on this card in addition to its own, adds 1 to its Move and Attack numbers, and gains the Super Strength special power.

I think that's actually a hair shorter than the current wording and rules out re-bonding with the same figure. I like that dynamic thematically, besides putting a limiter on how often Venom can just whammy one figure.
