Results:
Game 1: Full health Grid, 2 life Creeper, and two Beat Cops win the day.
Game 2: Full health Oracle continues to monitor a 3 life Firestorm for instability.


So, the basic idea here is Venom Pigeon can attack Creeper at basically no risk to port him up early, and Grid and Superwoman give you enough moves to not really lose momentum doing this.

To add to the Soundwarp special plays, I ended up picking my own Beat Cop as the Craving. Having a full heal I could pop fairly reliably just seemed a lot more useful than the attack bonus part.

Worked fairly well the first time around, Creeper just harassed the other team a bit before popping out and letting the rest of his team play. Grid helped him quite a bit in doing a bit of damage thanks to his defense reduction. Then they formed a clean up team that finished off the leftovers in the end game.

In the second game Ms. Marvel obliterated him in one shot of Megatron's pistol mode and he basically did nothing beyond 1 wound on Ms. Marvel.
So I think he's fine against armies with some heavy hitters. He has the potential to do a lot of stuff, but he's also one or two bad dice rolls from death at pretty much anytime.

Overall: I think he's probably ok. He has a lot going on with carrying and start zone bombing and healing and tricky plays, but he's fairly expensive and his actual stats are pretty low. He was fun to play around with.

He could be really oppressive against squad figures since he can dip out after one attack and reliably get 1 or 2 kills off on them next turn and heal back whatever damage he took and they're just sorta stuck trudging over to your start zone to kill the Ant or whatever you have hanging over there to shut him down. But C3G usually doesn't care about screwing over squads

I think if he were to need depowering against squads / cheap stuff, I'd just recommend letting him only heal off his normal attack. Or have the healing only trigger once per turn (as in if he hits it with claw carry, he can't hit it with his normal that turn). That way he wouldn't be getting such a massive swing in healing off in a turn.

Creeper chooses Wonder Woman as his Craving. Creeper carries Pinhead up early on. Creeper goes onto his card at the end of the round.

All Might kills Jason. Pinhead whiffs his Denizens of Hell roll. All Might goes after Pinhead. Creeper returns to the battlefield, and claw carries All Might to low round away from Zatanna. His unblockable wound kill All Might, but All Might is saved by Go Beyond Plus Ultra!. A 2-skull attack against 2/8 shields (with Jeeper’s Creepers subtracting 1) is enough to kill All Might. Jason comes back.

Pinhead wrecks Zatanna, who dies without doing anything. Wonder Woman rushes Pinhead while Creeper and Jason play interference. This ends up being a successful strategy, as while Pinhead is killed, Wonder Woman gets 5 wounds on her card. Jason kills Wonder Woman while both Creeper and Freddy were on their cards.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Jason (2 wounds), Creeper (0 wounds, on card), Freddy (0 wounds, on card).

Good showing by Creeper, but the Justice League really just flopped here.

Creeper chooses Reverse-Flash for Beatngu. Reverse-Flash chooses Creeper for Legion of Zoom.

The Slashers and Rogues both slow-roll up. Creeper carries Pinhead forward. Creeper is placed on his card at the end of the round. Tar Pit and Pied Piper make an effective duo against the Slashers, killing Jason and severely wounding Leatherface and Chucky. Leatherface massacres Pied Piper in retaliation. Creeper rejoins the fight and carries Top to low ground, dealing him 3 wounds. Creeper then goes back on his card.

Creeper gets placed right next to Top and carries him one space - that’s the only way he can carry anyone without being Flash Frozen, but it’s still unavoidable. Creeper kills Top and heals his leaving engagement wound.

The Rogues finish off Chucky and Leatherface. Creeper carries Cold to low ground and deals him 3 wounds. However, after this, Tar Pit engages Creeper to stop him from leaving the battlefield. (I’m not 100% sure that is correct, but the power specifies no LEAs which are only from moving, and Tar Pit prevents moving, so I’m guessing Stuck shuts off leaving the battlefield.) Jason returns via Friday the 13th.

The Rogues try to kill Pinhead, while the Slashers take out Tar Pit. Creeper returns to his card. Leatherface is resurrected via Hellraiser. Leatherface kills Boomerang. Creeper kills Cold and heals his single wound again. Reverse-Flash puts a couple wounds on Creeper but can’t attack him a second time due to Jeeper’s Creepers.

Creeper and Jason bring Reverse-Flash to 3 wounds. Reverse-Flash kills Pinhead and plays keepaway from Creeper. Creeper gets back on his card on turn 3 after Reverse-Flash attacks Creeper and brings him to 4 wounds.

Reverse-Flash kills Sam. Creeper gets his Claw Carry unblockable to kill Reverse-Flash and fully heals.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Creeper (0 wounds), Leatherface (2 wounds), Jason (0 wounds).

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Creeper felt pretty powerful. His tricks add a lot to the Slasher faction especially, shoring up many of their weaknesses. He gets a free unblockable and enemy figure movement each turn that is very difficult to prevent. Jeeper’s Creepers means that Creeper will be attacking (and moving) basically whoever he wants, whenever he wants, since he can be placed anywhere. If you don’t have a big attacker, Creeper just constantly disappears. And the healing discourages attacking him even more. It’s a rough combo in-faction, because you don’t want to prioritize Creeper or Jason, but due to their speed, they’re the first ones you encounter on the battlefield. And you’re slogging through so much life on everyone, especially with the various resurrections and healing. Just feels like there’s nothing you can do as the opponent.

I’m not entirely sure what I’d recommend tweaking. Something to make Creeper easier to kill would be my suggestion. Limiting how often he can go back on his card would be huge. He’s got a fun power set to play, just frustrating to play against in my opinion.

Just a clarifying question, did you play it that he takes LEAs when using Claw Carry if he was engaged prior to moving? Just double checking there as that's something that should see him get wounded a little more. He's also susceptible to auto-wounds which don't trigger his Jeeper's Creepers retreat.

As for tweaking him down, it looks like others had more success than I(I went 1-2, but you and Alex went 2-0, and SW went 1-1), so I have no issue depowering a tad at this point.

A couple options:

A: Normal qualifier & takes LEAs

JEEPER’S CREEPERS
At the end of the round, or after defending against a normal attack, you may remove the Creeper from the battlefield and place him on this card, and he does not take any leaving engagement attacks. Before taking a turn with the Creeper, if he is on this card and not destroyed, you may place him on any empty space on the battlefield, and any figure attacked by him this turn subtracts 1 shield from its roll.

B: Only when he takes 2 or more wounds.

JEEPER’S CREEPERS
At the end of the round, or after receiving two or more wounds, you may remove the Creeper from the battlefield and place him on this card, and he does not take any leaving engagement attacks. Before taking a turn with the Creeper, if he is on this card and not destroyed, you may place him on any empty space on the battlefield, and any figure attacked by him this turn subtracts 1 shield from its roll.

Let me know if you have a preference. I can run a couple follow up games to make sure it feels more reigned in.

Yep, if he was engaged he had to take LEAs. He never had to take more than 1 LEA from that at a time for me, though.

That first tweak looks more fun to me (more ways to play around it). Fine either way though.

R4: Oracle kills Jason. Freddy is off the battlefield thus loses.

Freddy tried to get on the battlefield in time, but failed to do so thus lost it for his team. He kept doing some solid wounding though. Creeper also pulled his weight by doing some decent damage, as did Jason. Overall solid showing for the Slashers, but they were just barely edged out.

Bit of a slog at the end as Green Arrow just kited around Jason and Sam for the most part, with the Slashers getting in the occasional hit. Creeper got prioritized and shut down early this game, but still it was anyone's game.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
The tweak seems good. Him taking the extra LEAs when being placed on his card will make the user think twice in some cases, and the vulnerability to special attacks will give the opposing player another means to deal with him.

He should see some more testing with a few Slashers/Tormentors yet to be designed, but I feel he's in a good place.
