I think you're being a little restrictive putting all the bad guys in Utgar or Valkril - I think Vydar's central and morally flexible enough to accommodate the shadiest good guys and the least evil/best intentioned bad guys. Honestly, from what little I've heard, I'd consider Doctor Doom going in Vydar, but I don't know the character personally. Doc Ock, while evil, I don't think is evil enough for Utgar - his selfishness and passion for science, in my mind, puts him clearly in Vydar territory. Riddler, again I don't know, but I be surprised if he's truly, purely evil rather than just selfish, and again, the trickery element seems a good bet for Vydar.

Loki, from what I've seen in the Avengers films, wasn't that chaotic in his motivations - he wanted to rule, not destroy - so I wouldn't put him as Valkril. Probably Utgar. I don't really know Robin and Batgirl, but shouldn't they go to whatever General Batman does? I'd probably put Hawkeye in Vydar rather than Einar - I'm not seeing much real reason for Einar, and Vydar keeps him with Fury, Natasha and the other Agents. Flash - I shock myself by not knowing. I do know this character, but I have no idea what General he'd follow. Thor, in my mind, is an obvious one - Jandar. He's a valiant champion, and Jandar has Vikings! You can't separate them from their God!

In my continuing quest to create proxies for Overpriced Heroscape Units, I bring you the latest units of... CheapScape!

First up, Zetacron!

The figure is a Mechwarrior Mercenary Panther. About $3. I think there are other models that are a darker blue that would be a closer match. The figure could fit on a single base, but I double-based it for greater Zetacroniness.

Next... the Zombies of Morindan Midtown!

The figures are all various Horrorclix zombies. The first card has the Zombie Sorority Sister, Zombie Cop, and Zombie Lawyer. The second has a Zombie Patient, Zombie Hard Hat, and "Pod Zombie." The Pod Zombie is sort of the odd one out -- he appears to have a tree growing out of him. I'm just going to say he tried to eat a tree in Central Park and this was the results. Anyway, he was cheap.

I did two sets of the first card (as they were more expensive) and three sets of the second card. All told, 5 squads cost me around $30, which is about the going price for two squads of "real" Zombies.

The "steal the X Order Marker" element of "Rising Tide Hacker" was the key synergy change I was looking for. First, there's the bluffing / guessing element of "find the X" that makes it fun. Second, she can give the X to Coulson, who can use it for a second "Coulson's Team" activation. Third, she can prevent a figure from waking up from "Night-Night Gun". "Hacking" as presented on TV is basically our modern version of magic, so why not?

I feel like he and May are closely matched combat-wise, so they have the same stats and CCE. "Treachery" which is basically "Stab In The Back" but with worse odds. (However that does mean higher odds of him defecting back to you! However once he's turned he can no longer be part of "Coulson's Team".

I have a semi-random assortment of superhero figures, and I've been looking for the right cards for them. I've always liked Matt Helm's "lunch box" approach to superhero design. While I really admire what the C3G has accomplished, it's a mostly closed system. I finally settled on using (mostly) designs by @Sherman Davies . For one, he's a great guy and I've actually had the chance to 'Scape with him a few times. Secondly, they're designed for mixed play with classics (although the Valkyrie addition is my own). And thirdly, sticking with (mostly) one designer means these heroes are tested with and against each other, and that they should work together. (Fourthly, he said it was OK!) So with his kind permission, here are my adapted comics cards! (SD = Sherman Davies, in case that wasn't obvious. Also, I've thrown in my "Agents of SHIELD" ones here.)

If you're seeking a consistent "look" for the cards, move on! I'm using whatever art strikes my fancy (and fits on the card well).

The Fire Ant Swarm is adapted from the C3G card -- I made them a Relentless Swarm instead of an Irritating Scavenger, mostly because I felt like it. Antony is based on the C3G Giant Bumblebee -- without the sting, but with the sacrifice ability. My mini is a plastic fly I had lying around for some reason. I'll put a pin through it and stick it in one of those 'clix flying bases. The scale is entirely wrong, not to mention the species, but we'll just use our imagination!

So… the figure is a Dragonspawn, not a Dragonborn, and apparently those are completely different, but who's counting? I started with Rhogar, naturally. He looks more Knightish than Paladinesque, so I took away Rhogar's healing. The breath weapon is different. "Dragonborn Zeal" adapts a D&D power of that name. It might keep him in the game, if you're lucky. I think he may be undercosted at 90, I knocked off a life to get closer to that cost but Zeal isn't really factored in yet.

When counting spaces for Morlok’s movement, ignore elevations. Morlok may fly over water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When Morlok starts to fly, if it is engaged it will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

I have no idea who the comic book "Crux" is, but the figure just looks right for 'Scape. I thought Demon, but I've got a lot of Demons, so it's some hybrid as the result of mad science. Or something, I dunno. The figure looks a lot better once you go over it with a wash, otherwise it's bright green.

Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 9 or higher, place the chosen figure on any empty same-level space adjacent to this Chain Golem. If the chosen figure is engaged when it is moved by Chain Grab, it will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

Iron Tough
When rolling defense dice against a special attack, this Chain Golem always adds 2 automatic shields to whatever is rolled.

Slithering Chain Climb
When counting spaces for this Chain Golem's movement, elevation changes up to 2 levels count as one space. You may ignore its height of 5 when climbing. This Chain Golem never takes falling damage or major falling damage.

Figure: Dreamblade Iron Thug. I really like this figure, and it's one of the Dreamblade minis that blends well with Scape.

Chain Grab is a natural for the Chain Golem, and several other Chain Golems proposed here use it as well. "Slithering Chain Climb" is a copy of the C3G power "Expert Climber." The idea is that the Chain Golem can disassemble itself, ladder the chains up a height, and then reassemble back at the top.

These have been added to various categories, although I still need to update my card index.

I also picked up some more cheap 'Clix. (Note to self: play more, buy less.) Here's some initial thoughts on assigning Generals to these supers:

Black Canary: Ullar? Alongside Green Arrow.
Bodyguards (C3G): Vydar
Brainiac: Utgar?
Darkseid: Utgar?
Green Lantern: Ullar? Because, you know, Green.
Harley Quinn: Valkrill. Alongside Joker.

She-Hulk: Ullar? Jandar? Ullar seems the obvious place since I've put her cousin He-Hulk there, but she's a civil rights lawyer -- that seems about as Jandar as it gets.
