Character Bio - D'Vorah belongs to the Kytinn race - a species of colonial insects that bond together to form humanoid bodies. Hailing from the Arnyek Islands, D'Vorah's realm was conquered and annexed into Outworld by Shao Kahn at some point in history, after which she vowed to serve the emperor in order to avoid becoming a slave. Rising in political power, D'Vorah became the second-in-command and a close adviser of Shao Kahn's successor, Kotal Kahn, assisting him in the civil war against Mileena.

However, D'Vorah's primary motive is The Hive's survival, the birth place of all other Kytinn, as she is the last known living member of her species. As such, she will ally with anyone whom she believes will help preserve and revive the Kytinn, including Shinnok and Kronika, betraying Kotal Kahn in the process. -Mortal Kombat Wiki

BROOD MOTHER
Start the game with any number of Common Insects in your army on this card instead of the battlefield and, when a Common Insect in your army would be destroyed, you may instead place it on this card. After revealing an Order Marker on this card and before taking a turn with D'Vorah, you may place up to 2 Common Insects from this card on empty spaces adjacent to her, then you may take a turn with up to 2 Common Insects you control.

OVIPOSITORS SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 2. Attack 1 or 2.
Start the attack with 4 attack dice. You may attack with 1 or 2 attack dice until all 4 attack dice have been rolled. If a skull is rolled on every die, each skull rolled counts for one additional hit.

INFESTATION
After D'Vorah inflicts one or more wounds on a Unique or Event Hero, you may place a Common Insect from this card onto that Hero's card. For the remainder of the game, at the end of the round, roll one unblockable attack die against each other figure for each Common Insect on its card placed by D'vorah. If you do not roll a skull, destroy that Common Insect.

FLYING

Tutorial to make D'Vorah's figure:
Figures needed:
Psylocke #55-57 for the base.
Iron Spider #044 for the ovipositors(spider legs).

Steps to create:

Spoiler Alert!

1. Cut the spider legs off of Iron Spider's back. They're all connected to a square backpack thing, so it's easy to just cut that part off, keeping all the legs as one object. Be careful when cutting the backpack off to not accidentally cut one of the legs, as I did, but it's easily glueable if you do.


2. Cut off some of the pink effects around Psylocke's hands. I left some on just to be able to repaint yellowish green to give that bug-like poison effect.


3. Glue the backpack/legs right here on her back. It fit right into the groove as marked on the image, tucked up against the 2 folds in her cape.



4. **Optional, but you can also cut/trim off some of the hood that goes under her chin. The hood D'Vorah wears goes over her head like a jacket, not under her chin/around the front of her neck. So I trimmed some of it away so that you can later paint it yellow to just look like her skin rather than her hood. No picture here for this step, as I did this after originally painting it black and realizing it didn't look quite 100% accurate, but you can jump down a couple steps to see what that looks like.

4. Paint her cape, hood, shins, and bra/underwear section black.



5. Paint her face, forearms, belly, thighs, and feet yellow.


6. Paint her eyes and mouth black, and the pink stuff around her hands a yellowish green.


7. Paint the Ovipositors a blueish green(or redish orange as they've been depicted that way as well is you desire) combo and you're done.

I dig it. Unique design that should give some fun synergy to the ants and bees.

This design is rad.

Is this the highest life ever on a non-Event hero? I don't think it's crazy given her miniscule defense.

I believe it is. Life stat is the first dial I’d look to tweak if she’s coming in strong (especially since there are a lot of allies who can benefit from having such a high life ally), but doesn’t seem like an immediate issue.

I dig it! Love the "poison" effect. Nice and clean. It'll be a trick to decide exactly how many bugs is the "sweet spot" for her, but having some Ant-Mans (Ant-Men?) as backup should help!

Is the intent for the special attack to keep attacking until you don't roll a skull? Or should it be "One additional time?" A constant attack if you roll a skull is pretty darned juiced, and I'd just pair her with Red Skull II then.

Yeah the intent is to let it keep going. It's meant to represent rapid strikes from all of her Ovipositors:


Always forget Red Skull's stuff isn't limited to the Terrorist he chooses. He'd be a decent pair there, even if he can't activate here, yeah, which isn't super unthematic I suppose. That said, probably a bit too good with that combo. I could see either changing it to a Swordplay or Fist Fusillade approach, without the doubling of skulls, a Five Card Draw approach, or just limiting it to 4 attacks of 1, where skulls are doubled and blanks are 3 hits? Not sure.

Lots of options, my preference is just to hone it in a tad so it's not abusable. And also not overshadow her cool bug stuff, since with the RS pairing and her SA I don't really care about the bugs, just dealing tons of damage.

I think I'm liking the Fist Fuscilade/Five Card Draw approach for it. Adds a bit more "risk vs. reward" factor to the player on 4 attacks of 1 vs. 2 attacks of 2 vs. 1 of 2 and 2 of 1 etc.
