Summary: Pretty brutal. The Turtles didn’t want to deal with Impulse’s defense, so they focused on Robin, but then Secret mucked up their stats, so they focused on Secret. And then Young Justice just picked them apart methodically. Impulse can deal some good damage, especially since the Young Justice designs don’t have multi-attacks.

Recap: Impulse gets a wound on Mike from height, attacking 3 times. Don vaults over Robin and hits him for a wound, and Secret appears, wounding Don. Mike Leaps to height on Impulse, taking a wound from Hit Anything, but hits Impulse for a wound. Robin kills Don, and Secret flies over to Leo and deals 3 wounds! Robin uses Deduction on Leo, paired with Secret’s Imposing Presence, but still misses a ranged attack. Impulse attacks Leo, taking a wound once from Impulsive Fighter, but also dealing a wound with a subsequent attack. Ralph steals Leo’s turn, and takes both his turns to kill Secret. Arrowette takes both of the remaining Order Markers. Arrowette hits Ralph for 2 wounds. Robin disengages to attack Leo with a Wonder Girl boosted attack, but misses. Impulse kills Leo. Robin lowers Ralph’s defense allowing Wonder Girl to kill him. Mike rushes Impulse, since he won Initiative so Impulse doesn’t have his Impulsive Movement defense boost currently, but he misses. Robin then kills him.

Summary: I don’t believe Hit Anything triggered a single time, but Lobo and Secret were MVP’s, dealing tons of damage with their unblockable dice.

Recap: Robin lowers Jean’s defense, saves it for Impulse’s turn, but still deals a wound. Impulse rolls 4 skulls! But Prof X stops him. Iceman deals a wound to Impulse. Robin takes a shot at a defenseless Prof X, dealing a wound, and having Angel fly him away. Jean deals a wound to Impulse but can’t throw him. Starfire moves up, and uses Impulse’s 2 wounds to kill Jean and deal 2 wounds to Cyclops. Angel moves Beast adjacent to Starfire. Beast deals 2 wounds to Starfire and misses Lobo. Cyclops hits Starfire for a wound and Lobo for 2. Robin uses Deduction on Beast, and hits him for 2 wounds, Angel brings Iceman to height, and Impulse engages Prof X, which he has to block (4 skull attack!). Beast kills Starfire and deals 3 damage ro Robin, which summons Secret, who then deals a wound to Cyclops, Beast, and Iceman! Lobo kills Beast (Who has impaired by Secret), and then he Bashes Cyclops, which kills him! Iceman kills Robin, Angel hits Secret for a wound. Lobo hits Angel for 3 wounds, then kills him with the Bash! Impulse attacks Prof X, but only takes a wound from Impulsive fighter. Iceman kills Secret. Lobo steals Wonder Girl’s turn and deals a wound to Iceman, and then pushes Iceman off the hill for another wound. Iceman tries to hit Impulse but misses. Iceman kills Impulse.Lobo and Prof X duke it out for 2 wounds, but the threat of Hit Anything allows Lobo to (In proper Lobo fashion) push the wheelchair bound cripple off a cliff, and him not want to climb back up to height because of the autowounds, instead shooting from range. Lobo just chases him down to finish him.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
He’s really good. I almost think he should cost a little more, but his fragility makes it tough. He can put out some serious damage, but it definitely bit him back a few times. I didn’t use the extra movement options very often, usually opting for staying put to lock down certain figures with Hit Anything. Definitely a good Young Justice mainstay though, even if he only gets Wonder Girl’s attack boost for a single attack.


GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
I like him a lot. I wouldn’t change the design at all. Just pick the cost. Obviously YJ cleaned house fairly well in my games, and Hit Anything rarely triggered at all, which usually controls games to a degree.

Summary:
YJ won initiative a lot in the early rounds so Impulse had took advantage of his OM reveal on defense a lot. Wrecking crew hit a couple rolls early but they were used for moving up since no one was in range yet. Then they went dry for a while and it looked like they'd get steam rolled but then Thunderball and Bulldozer bounced back and forth for an epic 5 turn chain that made it close. It was compounded by the fact they won initiative that round and really jumped on Impulse to take him out with the opportunity but it ended up being too little too late as Robin outlasted Thunderball in the end.

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Inflicted (2) wounds. Wrecker (1 - final one to KO Wrecker after Robin softened him up) and Bulldozer (1).
• IMPULSIVE FIGHTER: Used for (1) additional attacks and took (0) wounds (Didn't risk it but the one time due to the threat of WC's high defense).
• IMPULSIVE MOVEMENT: Helped out at least three times. And the thread of the power made him a huge target when initiative was lost.
• Damage Taken: Late in the game WC won initiative and Bulldozer charged him (took a wound from Cassie's HAtM) and gave him 2 wounds and Thunderball took LEA and HIT anything to finish him off in an epic chain that went on with Bulldozer doing major damage to Cassie and Thunderball hitting both Secret and Cassie with his big ball taking out Secret.

Summary:
In the first game my son made the comment "I wan't to take out the leader here but I don't know which one that is" in regards to the YJ. This game he came in with a idea of what he wanted to do. He knows how to run the core three well so he added in Changeling as a wound bank for Starfire and for the Python squeeze to deal with Impulse. Knowing that wounds weren't a bad thing for Changeling with his high life he pretty much took the role of chasing Impulse around and risking HAtM as he wanted wounds and just squeezing every chance he got. Changelings Porcupine Defense counter strike also was used more in this game than normal. Anytime I rolled well on attacks he'd turtle and low rolls would get counter struck. Still turned out to be a close game with YJ focusing hard and early on Starfire and then using Secret/Robin/Arsenal combo of defense reduction to get some damage on Nightwing.

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Inflicted (2) wounds. All on Raven but several attacks on Changeling were blocked by Turtle and the lack of blanks made him unable to run away.
• IMPULSIVE FIGHTER: Used for (1) additional attacks netting 2 wounds on Raven and took (0) wounds.
• IMPULSIVE MOVEMENT: Helped out some but didn't get to roll defense much.
• Damage Taken: Raven SS him for 1 wound, Changeling Squeezed out two more and NW finished him off later.

Played a third game just for fun with some Speedsters vs Rogues. I misplaced my notes and will add later but the Speedsters with Max not letting their defense get reduced wrecked them. I played Impulse differently and let him loose a bit more and he did significantly more damage than he took. I paired him with Wallace so the OM on Impulse wasn't a let down in comparison to the other Speedsters. So the kids tag teamed

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
I originally thought that he wasn't really integral here and was just there. But after thinking about it he really sets up a lot of Cassies Hit anything that moves. He didn't do a lot of damage but then I played him in a Speedster game and I was more aggressive with him I can see where he could work in some cases. Overall the YJ team was a lot of fun and I'll use him more aggressively in the future, not my usually playstyle.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
I like him even though my son got frustrated in the first game. He spotted the weakness quickly though and dealt with him after that. I hit a lot of rolls with Hit Anything in the first game and some of that was due to his mobility so that can't be discounted even though he did little else for me.

I think he is good at 140 points, after two really close games. The Impulsive Movement is a good alternative for Speed Dodge. It was annoying because I kept losing initiative so my only way to destroy him was getting Changeling next to him and doing the Python attack, and rushing him hard the first game when I did win initiative. He works really well with Cassie because he can break engagement and you’re forced to re- engage. I would leave him at the points he’s at.
