My general feeling is so long as the proxy figure isn't vastly different in size and shape from the original, and you clearly inform your opponents, proxies are fine.

Whoops. Our allowable units list had included the Incredible Hulk. He was not supposed to be on there and has been removed. Hope that doesn't mess with anyones army plans!

I know that there are many reasons to keep your Heroscape Army a secret prior to a big tournament event in order to surprise and outwit your opponents. However, since I don’t get to play very often, I enjoy the opportunity to consider a variety of unit combinations. Seeing them in print helps me compare them and decide upon which one I will use. I doubt that any of you are having trouble putting together your 510 point Army of only Less Than B+ units, but just in case – perhaps viewing this list of potential HS armies will help you overcome Analysis Paralysis . . .

I concur ...OR... I could just bring some extra M-43 Resistance Fighters to loan you for the duration of the event. Oh, wait a minute - the last time I did that (loaning an extra Sentinels of Jandar squad to Xanth in MD) he kicked everyone's butt and won the tournament

#8. Will "LOOK" the coolest on the battlefield - very thematic and intimidatingly awesome - BUT it doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hades to win a tournament unless you were lucky enough to play on only flat battlefields, since the double hex peanut bases can become problematic with even minor changes in elevation.
#9. Is fun because of the Flying Ability that enables many height advantage opportunities, but I used this army last year and it didn't do as well as I expected because these guys DON'T have Stealth Flying which would make them totally awesome and probably a B+ or higher.
#17. @Grishnakh used an army similar to this last year (only two Z-Hulks instead of three) and it looked like so much fun it motivated me to find and buy my own Zombie Hulks to have them available. If I remember correctly, my shooters were able to pick them off at max range, which might be a good reason to prefer the next one...
#13. The Microsoft Agents are always FUN to play and having 15 shooters with the Sighting Special has a lot of potential. However, I would probably sacrifice one squad in order to include one hero with 100 or 110 points and there are a lot of them to choose from.


Right now, I am leaning toward #6., #10., #11., or #18. because these are Armies that I haven't tried yet ( or even fought against ) and so their 'newness' to me has some additional appeal. I will probably bring about half of the eighteen combinations with me and decide at the last minute which one to pull out of the box; along with a bunch of B-12 and M-16 Resistance Fighters for @Sherman Davies. Hmm, maybe I'll just crunch the numbers and make a gnu army out of those guys as well. Hope to see all ya'all next weekend.
