I can definitely see where rearranging your targets on the fly might have some tactical use. Trading meat shields for Order Marker hubs? Yes, please. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
I'm pretty sure Dysole was talking about the OM rearrangement part, since that's what the Reality Gem does. As to the figure movement, I don't think it'll be useless, but due to the restrictions it doesn't seem like it'll be effective very often. But we'll see.

Combo Breaker
Figure movement is good and this moves figures who are near each other which makes Jay a pod breaker (unless you have Blob). This is a good thing.
~Dysole, who would definitely use it My Twitch Channel where I play Scape and other things My YouTube Channel where the games get uploaded later Dysole's Draft Rankings Map Thread (Not responsible for psychic damage) Customs Battle Reports This sentence is seven words long. Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
While the figure movement may be a bit situational, when it does come into play it will have a significant impact. Lots of adj. or aura bonuses and interactions that you can split up before you make your attacks. When combined with the OM rearrange, you can move a cheerleader out from the rear to the front and then leave them there open to ranged attacks for the rest of the round before the opponent has a chance to get an OM on their card to move them, which Jay can just move again if you win initiative. Their are counters of course but not every army will have one and have to focus on taking out Flash to end the pain.

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
Exactly. Moving Invisible Woman or Professor X in front of their allies, who were engaging your forces to protect them, is a great way to bust up some pods and attack some of the highly competitive builds in the game.

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
Moving a figure with higher defense and/or counterstrike that is already engaged with one of your figures with a lower attack alone will be a nice way to improve your own situation. Yeah, I can see quite a few uses for that power that will be pretty fun to put into action. I almost want to lower the roll to make sure I can use it more often, but then you would have to drop the OM rearrange. Maybe make the roll lower and you can choose to either have the figures swap OMs or swap positions? Then you can do the thing that is more useful to you at that moment in the game but not double up and do both at one time.

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
Of the concepts, I think I like the figure rearrange better than the OM rearrange (though I like both). For the sake of Golden Age simplicity, maybe it does make more sense to stick to one or the other?

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
Or a tiered affect where at a certain level you can move figures and at a higher level you can do both. My preference is slightly for the OM movement. That seems like a lot of fun to me.

Why not run the initial with both options, see which feels better, and decide from there?

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
It seems like the Choose one with a lower roll could make everyone happy.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
DISORIENTING WHIRLWIND
After moving and before attacking with Flash, you may choose up to 3 figures Flash moved through this turn and roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 14 or higher, you may choose one of the following * move 1 Order Marker from each chosen figure's Army Card to the Army Card of a different chosen figure, as long as both figures are in the same opponent's Army. * rearrange the chosen figures on the battlefield, placing each chosen figure on a space previously occupied by another chosen figure. Figures moved by Disorienting Whirlwind never take any leaving engagement attacks.[/quote] Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: The Book of Flash (Jay Garrick) - Design Phase
I think it'd rather start the Initial with him being able to do both, but if that's not working this will be my first choice for a change:
