Sure? Not the best one to ask on the theme. Thrall is more Undead which is neat.

I like them. I tried a lot of variations. Many I knew would not work after one round.
They can be a bit frustrating when they get trapped in your start zone because they have to climb out. You really need to plod out their advancement and slow roll them a bit.
Problem with that is they can be picked off early.

These guys are pretty much cannon fodder as I understand so they should not be the best competitive army but they do have potential. If their Defense dice get hot early and they get on top of you, they can start to rack up the wounds.

If the Devil ever gets made, that can give them a boost.

Mostly curious to see how other people feel about them.


Could try to go back to re-spawning two figures but dropping their Defense to 5 maybe.

Interesting point on the free move of 2 not being enough to move a double based figure up one level. I've certainly built fairly flat maps where they would get stuck without an OM on their card. Would you want to maybe make it a free move of 3, so they can move up one level, but less frequently than 3 times per round? What if you could move (all of) them once per round after any opponents #'ed OM is revealed (your choice, so you could move them after #1 or wait and move them after #3) and then again if/when the opponents X OM is revealed. Lots of powers make you reveal the X, so still getting that total free move of 6 per round still seems plausible vs many army builds. One half of the move being strategic on your part (you decided if after #1, 2, or 3) and one half coming in response to your opponents trying to make use of a special power seems unique and interesting to me.

Even if Devil Gundam doesn't get a figure we'd at least have Master Asia to boost them a bit eventually. I already have his Gundam.

And yeah, they're total cannon fodder so they don't really need to be super spicy out the gate.

Thrall would work as a class since they are pretty much the same deal as the Dragur Thrall but as a giant robot.

Interesting thoughts YK. I guess I would prefer to stick with a current power if possible.
Pretty open though.
Realized I need to try them with Spawn. He can set up figures for Walking Dead and can spend turns healing if needed to buy time for respawns.

Spawn combo is pretty solid, mostly because Spawn is completely awesome.
Being able to move figures into position where the Troopers can get them with Walking Dead is really nice and you can spend a round just hooking and healing and re-spawn a Trooper.
At one point I had a Trooper set up with Shadowcat protection. Spawn was a couple hexes away on high ground and could chain figures to one side of the Trooper for WD, then next turn, throw them to the other side. The Trooper could shift side to side and stay adjacent to Shadowcat and get the rolls for auto wounds.

Want to try one more tweak here and streamline Death Army to a simple plus two turns for three total each OM.

NAME = DEATH ARMY TROOPER

SPECIES = ANDROID
UNIQUENESS = COMMON HERO
CLASS = THRALL
PERSONALITY = MINDLESS
SIZE/HEIGHT = HUGE ?? (2-Hex)

LIFE = 1
MOVE = 4
RANGE = 5
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 7
POINTS = 150?

DG CELL RESURRECTION
At the start of the round, if there are no Order Markers on this card, you may place one of your previously destroyed Death Army Troopers in your start zone.

DEATH ARMY
This squad has the species of Undead in addition to the species on this card. After revealing an order marker on this card and taking a turn with this figure, you may take a turn two other Undead Android figures you control. You may not take additional turns.

WALKING DEAD
After an opponent reveals a numbered Order Marker on an Army Card that opponent controls, you may immediately move each Death Army Trooper you control up to 2 spaces. If a Death Army Trooper ends this move engaged with one or more enemy figures that it was not engaged with at the beginning of this move, you may immediately choose one figure that Death Army Trooper is engaged with and roll 1 unblockable attack die against that figure. When moving with Walking Dead, a Death Army Trooper will take any leaving engagement attacks.

SUPER STRENGTH

Actually we could just make them a 4 figure Unique squad...

I like that idea. Puts a hard ceiling on how many you’ll want.
