Exclusive Figures Repaints - A How-To Guide to all

Heroscape has a few Exclusive and promotional figures that used to be hard to get and fans had to repaint official figures to make the Exclusive/Promotional figures.

Nerak, Sir Hawthorne and the Elite Onyx Vipers are now cheap and easy to find since they where reprinted in Wave 10.

Master Woo, Agent Skahen and now the recently released official Samuel Brown ( never released just made offical after Heroscape was cancelled) can be found by either by paying alot for Official figures or repaints of them or by painting them your self. Its not has hard as you would think and very little skill is needed. Thats what this guide is for.



I know theres tons of pictures and mini guides out there for all of these, but they are all scattered. So I figured lets make a single thread with all the information we have to help others do their repaints.

These are pictures I have saved from diferent threads. I will try and give credit to the people who posted them. If I mislabel any of them please let me know and I will correct them.

Sam seems to be an easy repaint ( I have not done him yet but plan too).

So far this is the advice I have found from Grungebob;

"His hair is grey, his hat is now a darker black. ... His canteen is dark olive"
"The brown used on Sam is called Maple Syrup by Folkart. The cantine and knife sheath are Dark Olive also by Folkart"

These pictures seem a little dark but are the only Official pictures that I know off.



It seems that the items to be repainted are;

Hair - Grey
Coat - Brown
Strap crossing his shoulder - Black
Hat - Black
Canteen and Knife sheath - Dark Olive
And thats it!!

The Card



Repainting tips -EOV

First, you have to get a set of Venoc Vipers from wave 1.


This is a very simple repaint. You only need 3 colors;
Flat black - Dark Grey - Red ( and some sort of clear coat )

My first step before I start doing my repaints, I either remove the figure from its base by pulling it off, repainting, then gluing back on, or you can just cover your base by cutting a piece of paper and taping it over the base to avoid getting paint on your base sticker.

Painting

Give the entire figure a flat black coat, allow to dry.
Get your grey paint, from the fold in the neck to as low as you can go, give the "belly " a coat of grey. There are mold lines on both sides of the vipers body, keep between them and you should be good. This is not a dry coat, its a full coat. ( No dry brushing I mean). Next get all 4 claws on the hands.

Now dip your brush in the grey coat, dry off as much as you can with a paper towel, and softly pass your brush over the vipers * fangs*. It will highlight the teeth. If you do get some on the lips, just pass your thumb over it to wipe off the excess.

I recommend dotting the eyes with grey first to make your red shine better when you do the eyes. When it dries, dot the eyes red.

Some kind of clear coat is needed. I personally don’t use the glossy kind because heroscape figures are not shiny. I use a spray on flat clear coat finish.

Print out your new EOV cards and your done.

Bad thing about this repaint is that the Monk figure used to make him is still kind of hard to get as its a hard to find or expensive squad.

Reprinted in Wave 10 and pretty easy to find and cheap, the knights used to make this guy are still highly sought after.

This is possibly the easiest repaint thanks to a guide posted by Justjohn. He wrote a step by step guide for this repaint.
