Well since it's not something we're officially allowed to design for, I think brainstorming Star Wars for C3G felt a bit awkward. I didn't consider the Out There forum (probably because it's chockablock full of manga discussion already).

Despite this, discussions have indeed begun on Star Wars mechanics, fairly in depth from what was posted and HoSS was contacted to ask permission without the Heroes ever being notified or being given an opportunity to weigh in on the subject.

I think brainstorming in a public forum was awkward when we didn't know if it could happen or not. I don't think brainstorming in a casual chat among interested parties was.

And I don't think anybody contacted HoSS to ask permission. I think that's a misreading of the situation and additional clarifications that have been offered already.

An alternative idea I had that might be worth considering; What about a crossover? We work with the HoSS folks (if they want to, of course) to convert a few of their designs for the most iconic characters into the C3G style. Same basic powers, but amp the power levels up and make certain changes. For example, the Force Push symbol becomes the SS Symbol. Include a link in the book to the original HoSS card and it will serve as a bit of cross-promotion.

Wrong. Permission was not asked. Rather a general feeling about it was asked. There is a difference.

Discord is an instant messaging app, and we have a C3G server on it. I think there’s a link in the Welcome thread. We mostly talk about what time Bats and Alex go to sleep.

Trex likes the idea for the system but would still prefer it be run by HoSS which I more or less agree with which is why I suggested that maybe we do a joint endeavor where it is still run by HoSS but is tested for compatability. I think it could be good for both projects in the long run. We could potentially generate them more playtesters, which they are sorely lacking, and it could satisfy a larger player base than it already does.
