Hmm. Not sure how best to portray it. Maybe a clause where if he gets a blank on the first roll, he can't roll the rest of the round? He doesn't really ever turn back, but there are times he stays with his family longer than usual.

That could work. Thematically, you don't want this guy returning to be reliable, so having a big delay come up unexpectedly sounds great.

I mean, thematically you don't want the timing reliable. He's gonna come back canonically, its just a matter of when. That also keeps it in the realm of boostable by any potential future Geomancer design.

As someone who knows the character, having him charging into battle and killing dudes is exciting enough for me. And I was hoping we'd have a nice, simple design at last.

Nah, I think other than the SS and Life questions we've nailed it. If there's interest in the blank delays the resurrection more, I could see pursuing that route, but otherwise not looking to complicate things much more than this.

Yeah, I think that Blank mechanic is the simplest interesting tweak to a resurrection power here. I also like the idea of the mini game and think its unique, but I see how it is too complicated.

A phrase like this?

"When rolling for this power while Eternal Warrior has 4 wounds, if a blank is rolled, you may not roll for the remainder of the round."

That feels clunky to me though. Like I said, thematically it only really works on the roll from max wounds. Once he's going, he's going. There's no backtracking to paradise for Gilad. I worry its too much of an addition for not enough of a reward.
