After rolling for initiative, you may reveal an 'X' Order Marker on this card. While there is a revealed 'X' Order Marker on this Card, Doctor Strange cannot move, attack, or make leaving engagement attacks. That would let you hack away at Dark Phoenix beforehand, but not sever the Phoenix chain between Jean Grey and Dark Phoenix, it would let you hit figures on the Astral Plane, but it would not let you zap Captain Marvel while Billy's on the battlefield, that type of thing.

If it seems like too much, we could cut the "and species" part and my concerns would still be covered.

Yeah, looking, and I think the "species" bit only affects Dark Phoenix, so if we cut it you can't get her ahead of time, but that's the only difference. So I'm fine either way on that part.

I'd suggest making it name or Secret Identity to future proof it for characters without SIs

I’d be fine with a ‘not the same person’ restriction if it can be worded in a logical way. Like I wouldn’t want to go with ‘same name or SI’ because like, why would Hal being on the field stop Strange from wacking Guy if Cloak grabbed him? And if we just go with Secret ID that means it won’t stop it from hitting Phoenix because Jean Grey doesn’t have a secret id at all. So we’d need some new term that means ‘lowest level ID the figure has’
