Spawn got hammered hard by Fist and Cage's attacks early on, right before the turn Fate would have sent some of those wounds away. At that point, the game felt pretty much like a guaranteed loss for Fate since most of their strategy hinged on Spawn's capabilities paired with Marvel and Fate.

Some big hits and decent luck from Fate's team. Definitely a solid army, but it didn't feel unwinnable. I could see some armies definitely struggling against them, but if the army has some versatility and some beef, they will likely stand a chance. Taking out Spawn as quickly as possible seems to work better as seen in the first game, but this game saw the opponent focus more on Fate which felt a bit more daunting but once he's gone, it felt like an even game.

Unit Summary: Doctor Fate had a bit and continued impact on this game. There were a lot of cool parts in this army build, but I think I underestimated the strategy needed to use them all together. If I’d had more of a sniper in place of Blue Beetle, I might’ve taken better advantage of the rounds the Fan Four lost to the Blizzards (Merlyn in the Blue Beetle role probably would’ve swung this). Better rolls from Doctor Fate when attacking early might’ve changed this around as well. Still, he was fun and felt worth his points in terms of impact here!

• MYSTIC ORDER: Rolled (0) for (1) to do the following: Nothing. I just had so many better options for Twist of Fate that I didn’t bother using this and once Ice took wounds she fell too fast for this to be of use. He really needs higher life allies to maximize this one, I think.
• MAGICAL DEFENSE: Helpful, but the Fan Four got enough activations on him to take him down fast.

Unit Summary: Mystic Order still had very few chances to be relevant here, but mostly because the Justice League spent most of the game winning and when their allies died, they died fast. Twist of Fate continued to be the big winner here. Unfortunately Aquaman died before releasing the Kraken and Jayna only got in one Sea Serpent roll (successful thanks to Doctor Fate) before falling. But it certainly stymied Magnetic Throw Defense and helped with timely initiative wins. Fate himself did some solid damage attacking from range and height and with Cosmic Boy falling so early (thanks in part to Fate’s manipulations) the remaining Legion just didn’t have the guns to take down Martian Manhunter.
