Hey all, I had an idea and thought I would post it here.

Since the new huge PM box came out for Site Supporters I have been having some troubles finding urgent PM's from the past. Is it possible to add a search window to the PM inbox where you can search a keyword like... "playtesting" or "Customs" and then get a list of your previous PM's that relate to that keyword? I think that this would be a rather nice addition. What do you all think?

I believe this would probably be best in the site issues thread (look a little bit down the page in this forum section). That thread also has the same problem, ironically.

After seeing someone inadvertently (I hope) necroing a 3+ year-old thread about an eBay auction, it got me to wondering if it would be worthwhile to have a mod lock threads like that after they have served their purpose and there's been no activity for a certain number of months.

+1, although they should be careful not to lock "timeless" threads that haven't seen action in a while. There are quite a few threads worth reviving out there that aren't tied down to a past event or something like that, like the eBay auction SirG mentioned.

Perhaps a longer wait before locking those kinds of threads, compared to now-useless threads like the aforementioned eBay thread.

I would say the problem with that is the odd occasion the necro post adds something meaningful to the thread. Some of those threads are fun to revisit as well.

I think that necroing isn't really that big of a deal. It doesn't hurt us at all if an old thread pops up to the top of the forum for a couple hours.

I also agree. And I'd rather see too many threads necroed than none at all. Too much great old stuff around here.

While that idea is good for certain situations that guy necro'd two other threads that were very interesting.

Which reminds me I think this guy needs a title like ultra-necroer, every post he has had so far has been a necro.
