Not necessarily, I know I was allowed to run Hypnotise and Mesmerise with my Mordo LD as they were thematically linked.

Why not make it a trigger spell? Something that allows him to use it instead of being destroyed. I’ll write something up later, when I’m not on my phone.

I hate that Jewel is our only representation of Jessica Jones so far! But since we have the fully comic-booky verson of Jess, we can do one that hews closer to the one on TV.

Thought about having a power called "WALK OF SHAME" but I didn't know what that'd be mechanically. I based the stats on Jewel with a bit more offensive oomph and took out flying as this is more of a feet on the ground version. I tried to represent her brand of investigation being as much about roughing people up for info as anything and threw in her reluctance to be a hero. I also wanted her to be able to resist Purple Man but not all the time (thus not going for Mental Shield). The Healing is thematic, but if four powers seems like too much, I can always cut it and maybe boost her life by one.

After attacking an opponent’s adjacent figure with a normal attack, if the defending figure is still engaged with Jessica Jones, your opponent may immediately reveal and remove one unrevealed Order Marker from any Army Card that opponent controls. If your opponent does not reveal and remove an Order Marker, you may take an immediate turn with Jessica Jones or one Unique Fighter Hero you control. After this turn, you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

MENTAL RESISTANCE
If an opponent would take temporary or permanent control of Jessica Jones, you may first reveal the “X” Order Marker on this card. If you do, that opponent may not take temporary or permanent control of Jessica Jones for the remainder of the turn.

SUPER STRENGTH

I dig the direction. My only two suggestions are:

a) swap out Pound the Pavement for Shakedown - mechanics are super similar and Shakedown still works namewise, so I'd go for the reuse
b) maybe go for something that ties her to Fighters in place of Reluctant Hero? I think Investigator is the right class, without question, but it'd be cool if she had some reason to run with Luke

I based Pound the Pavement directly on Shakedown. I figured she used it more on shmoes (common figures) and that Shakedown didn't feel right as a name, but I'm fine reusing it if folks prefer that.

The TV show version of Jess certainly interacted some with Luke, but I wouldn't say she's that closely tied at all. If anything, she should be tied to Hellcat. I think we have the version of Jess that pairs with Luke in Jewel.

I was thinking mainly of Bendis' recent TV-inspired Defenders run when I suggested letting her run with Luke.

The Jewel version can run with Luke, but the Jewel version is also sort of a weird version of her. Doesn't scratch the itch to see Luke and Jessica team up, for me.

I am a proponent of Investigator here. There has been a lot of buzz lately about Investigators as a faction and so it feels to me like it's looming on the horizon. This representation of her captures herself as quite literally a Private Investigator, and I don't think I would think of her as a Fighter. Her as Jewel makes perfect sense as a Fighter, but her as a street-lurking PI doesn't really read that way.

I don't think she should be a Fighter. I think instead of Reluctant Hero she should have something that makes her like running with Fighters.

The Jewel version is also pretty rubbish, so yeah it would be nice to see a Jess/Luke team-up where I don't feel like I'm being punished for going on theme.

I think Reluctant Hero gives this Jess a bit of soft synergy with Luke already though. A Luke build really wants to stack OMs on Luke, so this Jess can give you a bit of extra security in case of a epic defense fail on Cage's part. I'd draft this one with Luke way before the other one anyway. Maybe just expand Reluctant Hero a bit to play with Luke better if need be? Like maybe a 'Reluctant Leader' power where it also lets you do an 'I've got your back' type power when she absorbs OMs or something?

I get that but I don't like forcing her into a group that thematically isn't as good a fit as one she actually works with. Sure the Jewel card works with Luke but there isn't a comic (or TV) version of Jessica Jones that doesn't work with Luke at some point.

Yeah that would be my direction as well...not directly a Fighter but something that makes her useful in drafting with the rest of the Defenders
