This is really getting me excited because I feel like the sand hexes in heroscape could use a few terrain items to make it more appealing to the people creating and playing on a map.

UPDATE:

The Hyground Tiles Kickstarter begins Monday, Aug. 11.

The base set will have 136 pieces (including five fir trees), for 266 hexes total, 12% more than SotM's 238 hexes. For comparison, adding the 29 road tiles from a FF set to SotM would give you 267 hexes.

Expansion set eye candy so far:
Fir Forest (16 tiles, 10 trees in 3 sizes) and Lava (23 tiles?) sets


Cemetery (19 tiles? --9 gravestones, etc.) and Torture (18 tiles? --four major pieces) sets


transparent Water / Dock set with fish (22 tiles? --not including the dock)

Between these and all the quality customs projects for new designs, Heroscape may have a strong future.

Teaches me to post without searching first! I just posted my very excited thoughts about this project - here - but I wanted to add...

I asked them a few days ago about that gorgeous blue water, and the tile with the fish in it. They informed me that the water caps are transparent blue, and there's a 4mm space under it, to the tile itself.

Yes, my brain immediately exploded.

And, I just recalled something I saw on the site. Under About, there's a link for Future Plans. Among the other great but expected (sci-fi, steampunk, etc.) ideas...

Action tiles; these are tiles that will perform some action when a character is placed on the tile. Buzzers would sound, lights would turn on or both together to indicate an explosion such as a land-mind or indicate someone has entered into a time-travel portal, or is now bound in place by a green glowing magic spell, etc. Or simply a trap door opens to swallow-up the miniature.

These folks are hurting my head. In the best possible way.
