So what is the total you have spent on storage solutions alone?

The one thing that has saved me money on storage things is the invention of the dollar store. It seems that every time I'm in one, my mind starts to look at all kinds of things as possible storage for HeroScape.

Re: HS Storage Devices
Admittedly this was a bit of an expensive solution, but I'm loving it right now.
http://craft.artbin.com/scrapnrubsta...chels.asp#cube The cube plus 9101AB for the vast majority of figs and 9100AB and 9000AB for large and huge figs (esp with wings) is an awesome drawer system. Add labels and finding and putting figs away is way easier than it's ever been. I should note that I actually purchased these at Jo Ann's, as it's much cheaper (both for the products and the shipping). The Cube http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...RODID=prd60105 9101AB http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...DID=xprd408781 9000AB http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...RODID=prd37298 The containers are also available at retail stores. As far as tiles, I'm using this tool box http://www.stanleytools.com/default....ile+Tool+Chest and lots of large ziploc bags. It's good for transport, but I'm at the point w/ my collection that I'm not worried about that as much anymore. Last edited by theonlymegumegu; February 1st, 2009 at 07:34 AM. |

This is how you necromance a thread. Although there is probably several more active storage threads than this one but he at least added something new to the conversation. +rep and Welcome to the site. |

Re: HS Storage Devices
Yeah, I felt kinda bad posting in a 2 year old thread, but it was the newest one I ran across where the title had to do with storage. If you know where a more recent active thread about storage is, I'd gladly cross post over there. I haven't received the cube in the mail yet but once I do I'll post pics of the whole system put together.

Re: HS Storage Devices
Looks good, but also looks expensive from those prices I saw... I like it better then the plano cases I am using now.
Is there anything to keep the drawers from sliding out if it is tilted forward? If not... I glued some magnets into my storage drawers it holds them in place somewhat, was a pain getting glue to stick to the drawer plastic though. But in your case you could prolly get away with a plastic panel and a hinge and just put a door and latch on the front. |

How to post images: The image has to be a supported file type: .jpg, .png, .gif. If the image is already located online. . . 1. Right click on the image and select Properties 2. Highlight and copy the Addresss 2. In the posting text box, type "[img]" without the quotes. 3. Paste (Ctl+V) to insert that copied image address right after the closing bracket. (You will need to add .jpg to the end of yours because of your image host) 4. Close the img tag by typing "[/img]" without the quotes. If the image is NOT already located online. . . 1. You need to get it online, if you are a site supporter, you can upload it to our Gallery, if not, you will need to sign up for an account at a hosting site like photobucket. 2. Upload your images using the options in your Gallery account. 3. Once your image is uploaded, follow the steps above |

Re: HS Storage Devices
For those with money issues, Wal-Mart and similar stores should have Steralite (sp?) storage towers with 5-7 compartments. The 7 should hold most collections that are not massive. Currently using the 5 compartment one myself (holds 3x MS, fair amount of boosters but isn't a huge collection - yet). The only thing I wish was that I had gotten the 7 compartment one instead ($28 vs $22) so that my huge figures could be inside a drawer as opposed to on top of it..

Re: HS Storage Devices
If you get the smaller sterlite towers. (the aprox 12/15 inch wide ones)
You can use the waistbands of old pantyhose as "keep the drawers in" devices..... doesn't look the greatest (not all neat and streamlined) but it beats having to pick up all your "toys" from under the car seats. |

Re: HS Storage Devices
I tend to use thick clear packing tape for such things. One small strip on both sides, and doesn't look that noticeable. Best would be Duck Tape however, doesn't look nearly as nice.
