Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
I purposely had left hatamoto out of my collection for a long time as a flawed knot.
Now I'm not sure if I could consider my collection complete without c3v and my personal custom s |

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
Only one right answer: see 'Scape, buy 'Scape. There is no complete.

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
For the most part, I didn’t like the D&D sets. I sold my collection in 2013 to pay rent, and with the announcement of Age of Annihilation, have begun rebuilding it. I will consider it complete when I have 1 of each unique, 3 of each common (5x for swarm units like Zombies, Deathreavers, Marro Drones, etc) through to when WotC put their spin on it.

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
4 of each Master set/terrain expansion
4 of each common/uncommon unit 1 of each unique unit I could make a case for two of each unique unit, so you can play mirror matches. I have a second copy of about half of them. You could also set a point limit for the common squads. Say you want to be able to draft 400 points of any common squad. That would be 10 copies of Venoc Vipers, but only 3 copies of Einar Imperium. |

I just bought some large/huge figures online that should fill my remaining gaps. One those come, I feel I have enough stuff to basically play for the most part any 500 point army in person imaginable with proxies that are pretty similar is size, look, and pose in regards to hit zones. Bramcephys and Mok are two basically equal sized muscular monsters with bladed hand weapons and metal armor/attachments on their shoulders. Maybe I can't field both at once, but I'm not buying a $40~ Mok when I only have one official Shieldsmiths and no axe grinders. I have more than enough figures to use a random army generator with a randomly generated point amount between 400-600 points to be able to field four players worth of armies they don't have any repeated units within each other. I have more than enough to have a variety of good times at in person tournaments. I'll accept the fun challenge of taking on people with legions of common bonding squads with just a few unique heroes with minimal synergy lol. I'll play the online tournaments if I want to play super competitively and have unlimited of everything to go full beast mode. I've also decided recently to just use mini Christmas trees instead of getting ROTFF, using duct taped cups for rock Outcrops/glaciers and using swamp and swamp tiles with heavy snow and heavy ice rules. I feel those would be harder and slower to move in compared to snow anyway. Good enough for me. I can shape castle turrets into the same LOS shapes and heights of the glaciers. Though I'll still totally see OG/C3V/SOV scape, buy OG/C3V/SOV scape if the price is right lol. I just feel like it's been drying up fast since the pandemic, especially after the AoA announcement. At this point, 3D printing is not worth it for me, unless I had to start collecting from total scratch again. Upset City Baby. Last edited by brak88; October 9th, 2022 at 01:40 PM. |

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
If money was not an issue? One of every unique and four of every common "per player" so completely open drafts can happen.
In reality? I already consider it complete, simply because buying vintage Heroscape has become far too expensive. |

Just when you thought it was all right, someone made it alright. Good trades with - Porkins / xraine69 / mac122 (x2) / frylock / Ztimster (x2) and probably others I forgotten to mention...sorry. Last edited by AMIS; October 9th, 2022 at 05:52 PM. Reason: My paint point for the day... |

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
Oh, I backed a copy of AoA. Especially considering how big many of those minis are, it's a deal compared to buying 71 grey 3D printed copies of the OG units. I use loads of unpainted minis from other games I have. I already have a precedent of using unpainted minis so it's no issue for me personally.
I think the main problem is giving the two new generals that have the most presence the least visually appealing colors. The dark green, red, blue, Vydar grey/blue and purple are great. The einar yellow is a bit overly bright. I'd do a more metallic gold for that personally. I'd change the mountain dew green and Cheeto orange, I don't know to what other color. I'd have to think about it. Maybe olive/tree barkish brown mix instead of neon green and rusted bronze/burgundy mia instead of orange. I'm not a painter. I painted some asphalt tiles into lava and excess non sparkle water into molten lava and shadows and that was enough for me lol. Edit: actually, I don't mind the orange and yellow the more I look at them. I'd still change the neon green though. Upset City Baby. |

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
Wait, why is Einar yellow? Shouldn't his units be purple with Aquilla having yellow?

But yeah, the issue is the lime green for Volarak being so ugly and him having so many units. Plus, SuperFrog confirmed some of those are supposed to be Ullar units (forest Green) which is much nicer looking (see the Sonlen sculpt). So the pictures they're marketing with aren't even correct. The new AoA stuff is awesome and an incredible value but this campaign is really mismanaged |

Re: At WHAT point would consider personal collection complet
For me a complete collection is a baseline of 2x of about 80% squads and 1x of about 80% of heroes, VC included. About 20% of the stuff in both classic & VC I just don't care about. And 2x of every terrain set.
I go beyond 2x for the following - 3x for squads that are 65 points or less - 4-6x for swarm units (zombies, drones, vipers) - 3-7x for a few cheese armies (3x Heavies, 3x Cathar, 5x Knights, 7x spiders) So it's basically 2x of commons and 1x of uniques with a little flexibility depending on what situations I want to play the unit in (a zombie horde scenario at home, or a 550 point tournament for example). I'm also OK with proxying & 3D prints though, so achieving this point has been pretty doable thus far. I think I'm about 3/4 of the way there |
