How To Properly Sell-out
Okay, if D&D Heroscape is a sign of WOTC selling-out Heroscape, and presupposing that selling-out is inevitable, what's the most palatable way for them to sell-out?
For me, the most important thing for them to do is maintain a sense of genre-blending. Sure, bring on D&D, but also mix in more Marvel, some Star Wars, G.I. Joe and Transformers, even. As long as they keep the hodge-podge going (along with the quality unit balancing and what-not) I'll probably be able to grin and bear it all.
And if they're going to try to pull in other types of miniature gamers, why not try to pull in other types of landscape builders-- maybe they could come up with some sort of model train set-up that would work within heroscape hexes. If they could pull in those hobbyists, we could be in for a terrain renaissance!
Anyway, if it has to happen, how can WOTC make the sell-out as painless as possible for you? Or, how can they do it and still keep your business?
EDIT: BTW, this is not meant to be a "Heroscape is Dead" thread. It's clearly not dead, but if it's necessisarily going to be merged with other properties (like Marvel and D&D), then what's the best way to do it? That's all I'm askin'...
