C3G Thanksgiving/Christmas Giveaway


It's the holiday season and C3G is in a giving mood. Get involved and win an unreleased Event Hero card.

Rules:

Quote:
  • Must sign-up for and complete a playtest as per the C3G playtesting standards. This rule will be strictly enforced. As a reminder:

    Quote:
    • Playtest sheets must be completed in full.
    • Correct formatting must be maintained.
    • Avoid using too many abbreviations.
    • The full cost of each army should be listed; generally, these armies should equate to approximately the same amount of points.
    • Make it clear which team won, what figures were remaining and how many lives the surviving figures had.
    • Extra attention should be given to the tested figure; the more information about how the figure was used in the test the better. Let us know what made the figure effective/ineffective.
    • Complete the test within 6 days.
  • For each playtest you sign-up for and complete between today and December 24, 2013, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a prize. The more tests you complete the greater your chances of winning one of the two prizes.
  • The prizes will be a personalized custom card of an unreleased and well-known Event Hero.

Whoops. I've been violating the 'avoid use abbreviations' rule quite a bit. In fact I try to use abbreviation to shorten long words that I know will be reused a lot in the test.

I don't think that's a very hard-and-fast rule, but if there are too many abbreviations, it can start to seem a little like deciphering code! I myself tend to abbreviate or shorten some names when writing reports (Cyclops to Cyke, Wolverine to Wolvie, Spider-Man to Spidey, etc.), but it helps to keep abbreviations to a minimum.

Yep - more of an art than a science here. If you use a few key abbreviations, but the test results are communicated clearly overall, no worries. But when in doubt, leave them out.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
