Saturday, July 16th Altered Scape Event

I am organizing a special day of Heroscape for our July Game Day at Lake Forest Park. The title is “Altered Scape,” and the theme of the day is around revised Classic Heroscape figures and the Custom ‘Scape that has been coming out since the last wave was released.

We’ll have various Heroscape battles but the Armies can use the revised stats from the Competitive Unit Congress (CUC) and the customs from sources like Auggies and the Soldiers of Valhalla (SoV) and other customs that have been on Heroscapers.com.

The goal of the event is of course to have fun with Heroscape! And if you want to show up and play the Classic Scape figures – that would be great. But if you also want to help test out these new Fan-created customs or the revised stats from the CUC – that would be cool as well.

I have also been working on my custom-making skills (at least the Army-card side of things), so I will have a few units that can be played as well. We have some great custom-makers to choose from, like C3V and one of my favorites – Scytale. I have acquired a few of the custom’s that Auggies has sold (including two Zombie Hulks). I just ordered some of the figures needed for Scytale’s Order of Dagon and the Army of the Dead.

And there are also the C3G “Marvel” customs, if folks are interested – and
I believe a few of you have been collecting them.

So if you have been looking at Heroscapers.com and trying to find some new customs to try out - this event will be a great place for play-testing! We a month before the event, so if you have customs that you'd like to see there - please let me know, and we'll see if we can get it for the day.

Casual game day in near Seattle in Lake Forest Park, held at Third Place Books' Commons room.

This Game Day is a cooperative effort.

Please bring your own figures (armies are generally 400 - 500 points). Volunteers bring their own terrain, and set up between 1:00 - 2:00pm. Games generally go until 7:00pm, but we have the space reserved until 10:00pm PST. We have enough space for 12+ players.

For testing out with Classic 'Scape, I am thinking our usual 500 points.

I was going to post some sample army ideas, once I got to thinking some up : )

And thanks for bringing the C3G! I've never used them, so this could be my chance to see them in action : )

I hope we get enough participants to warrant this excursion into altered scape.

We can certainly do more points for the C3G figs. They are most 200-300+ point Super-Heroes right? Maybe 600-800 points for specific Super-Heroscape?

I would keep it at 500. That would cause one to think twice about including an uber-hero because they would use up most of the 500 points.

An army of Elektra and Hand Ninjas, or Hydra and Madame, or Thugs and a Crime Lord, or Batman/Robin and some cops would be good to play. Thor, Superman, or a Green Lantern would make order marker management easy . . . but would not be as much fun and would probably not do very well against classic scape.

Although Wolverine with some D&D Death Knights could be a hoot.

We've mixed and matched classic with C3G quite a bit, but mostly with larger sized armies. I think keeping it 500 will be a good test.
