How Much Focus on Dungeon Crawling?

This is pretty self explanatory. Do you like this new direction? Would like more than 2 D&D Waves and a master set, or is 2 waves and a master set enough dungeon crawling and not enough classic war?

Honestly I think 2 waves and a master set is enough for now. With what we have, 33% of master sets are dungeon crawling style, along with 1/6th of the waves. (Too lazy to do the math, and I don't have a calculator on me. )

If we were to have another dungeon crawling release, I'd like to keep our standard scape/dungeon crawling scape ratio the same.

Then again, dungeon crawling might not be too radically different, but we don't have enough information.

We know that there will be two future releases for DnD Scape planned in 2010 - we do not know that this equals two Dungeon Crawl waves. DnD comes in a lot of flavors and so do releases (terrain? huge figures? etc.)

I fell in love with HS not DnD. I dont want there reworked rubish. So far all that WoTC has really done (out side of W9[Not sure if it was them or hasbro]) is repaints and reprints.

This is more of a marketing ploy(sp?) then an acuatal Master Set. Lets try to lure in DnD players in to HS by bridging the conection. They'll do the opposite by haveing HS in DnD stuff. And really try to get us to buy DnD.
More players in each would mean more money for each.

Would only buy for the terrain. I am hoping that this gets pushed to the side and have its own scape (like marvelscape).

On topic, I don't mind that the new Master Set has 5 dungeon crawling-type scenarios; after all. SotM pretty much had the same thing with its mini-campaign in the rulebook. I just want WotC to remember that Heroscape is first and foremost a miniatures skirmish game, not a roleplaying game.

Exactly! They can suggest scenarios all the ywant but that doesn't mean we need to play them. I think I can safely say that every member here prefers classic heroscape to any off shoot. Personally, I welcome variety though want heroscape to trend along its original lines.

THE OLD GUY SPEAKS: Let's not forget that D&D, although originally first presented in only a medieval fantasy setting (and mostly underground), spawned an entire new industry of multiperiod, multigenre "Adventure Gaming" that changed the face of the gaming industry forever. I was there. I saw substantial shelf space for both board and minis gaming replaced with FRP at The Compleat Strategist here in NYC, where it still remains today, over 30 years later.

Would't it be fun to see the same thing, if correctly done in a proper SCAPE framework, for our baby? Let's catch that wave if it comes!
