Fading Dice

Have any of you had problems with the shields and skulls on your dice fading off. I've got to the point where I can barely tell what I'm rolling. Even the blank sides are showing bits of red, so I mix them up with skulls sometimes. Has this happened to anyone else or have I once again received the proverbial short straw?

It's pretty common, actually. Many here have multiple master sets and replace as necessary. Personally, I use flagbearer dice which are inset and should wear a lot less.

perhaps you have toxic skin which is causing the dice to fade....someone's sister here has that same problem

I plan to have some custom 'scape dice made for me with pitted emblems so that they can't fade.

That's the site I found that does it. It's not all that cheap, but I think it'll be worth it

My dice are faded because sometimes my dad rubs the dice together before rolling, it's a really annoying thing and i do temd to lose my temper over it! I tried painting nail varnish over the sides like was suggested by some people here but everntually that started coming off. I would definitely suggest it though and keep topping your dice up with the varnish so they stay nice and unmarked.

My 2-year old put one of the skull/shield die in his mouth. I didn't want him to choke so I told him to spit it out. When I got it, the symbols had washed off.

I think my rolling on carpet has preserved the dice. Since the surface is so soft they don't get scraped off as they would if you rolled them on a table. That's my theory anyways.
