I definitely have an Event Hero like that, so I'd be OK with that. Though it does seem like Thanos is the type powerful enough to counter that. So I'd be OK either way.

I'd rather have Event Heroes be immune. Event Heroes shouldn't have key parts of their power negated like that.

PERMANENT DEATH SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 4. Attack 6
Choose a figure to attack. You may also choose up to two other figures adjacent to the targeted figure to be affected by this special attack. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. Each figure rolls defense dice separately. Anytime a figure that is not an Event Hero is destroyed by this special attack, remove it from the game. It cannot return to the game by any special powers or glyphs.

I added destructible objects to your edit for Permanent Death Griff. That's to keep Ice Rocks and Trees from getting taken out of the game and away from those units that can produce them.
