Team Star-Lord advances near the center of the map, but then hangs back and lets the Fighters come to them, leveraging their range advantage.

Ravager gets some wounds in on Bucky and uses Spiteful Defense to get a free wound on Cap, but as soon as the melee battle is joined, Luke Cage rolls all-skulls to take Grant down. Grant could have survived with 3 shields and gambled on that instead of going for Spiteful Defense, but he came up short.

This one played out a little better for Ravager, but ultimately ended similarly for him. He got a chance to get a couple beefy hits in on Iron Fist to take him down, but then Luke Cage came at Ravager with another giant roll and this time Ravager (again needing 3 shields to save himself) let himself go down in exchange for a free wound on Luke.

Stronger performance from Ravager himself, but the game went the other way this time.

Slightly different dynamic for this game - Team Star-Lord can't rely on their superior range anymore, and Merlyn manages to pick off Star-Lord. Ravager has a pretty big game - a bit too big for my liking. His team narrowly loses, but Ravager does very well for himself against the Ninja hordes.

This one went a little differently because Angel went down early-ish, but Star-Lord stuck around to boost Robot and Ravager. Ravager saved his boosts for fighting X-23 and Merlyn, not bothering on the Ninja, and it worked out pretty well for him. He took out both of them and came out lucky with the unblockables.

With retreating and healing him up off the table, he played a little more like I thought he should - not being able to heal also makes Spiteful Defense a little less attractive. He went down on an unlucky whiff, so he never got to use it at all.

Very close match overall.

Ravager mixes it up with Manchester Black. He has some weak rolls, but still manages to take down MB, albeit at heavy cost to himself. He used Spiteful Defense to put a wound on Armor as he went down.

Robot managed to just barely eke out a win over Cyclops in a shoot-out that could have gone either way.

Batwoman had some really good rolls here against everyone except Ravager. She and Ravager were pretty ineffective against each other, but Batwoman managed to dismantle most of team Star-Lord without much trouble. Ravager did okay for himself - didn't set the world on fire here, but he managed to avoid being tied down by Robin for too long and take down Batwoman.

Ravager's at his heaviest-hitting here, up against a Titan army. Works out pretty well for him, overall. He has some weak-ish attack rolls and doesn't deal out quite as much damage as he could, particularly to Starfire. (Of course, when he's going after Raven, he busts out a string of crazy high-end rolls where mediocre-to-bad ones would have done just fine) On the flipside, Unstable Enhancements is pretty kind to him.

Not a flashy showing for Grant, but his multi-attacks were instrumental in racking up wounds on Raven so that she could be taken out before she passed too much of her damage around. So he played a pretty big role in the eventual win.

Unit Summary:

Ravager was the star here when Red Skull went down weirdly quickly - Guardian Angel and Adhesive X Trap kept him alive for a while while he got some attacks in.

He kept going in for the boost in order to keep up with the heavy-hitting Avengers. Unstable Enhancements was kind to him for most of the game, but ultimately it stabbed him in the back and destroyed him. First time he's gone down like that in one of these games - not actually great for him, but it was kinda cool to see it happen.

The high-level view here is that Zemo's Adhesives and investment in movement figures is almost enough to gum up the works for the Avengers, but Valkyrie keeps Ms. Marvel in the game long enough to win the day.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Ran a bunch of games with the same build to get a sense of his power level and how he plays against different kinds of armies. He felt too strong to me at first against swarms or armies with weaker figures, so I tried taking away the healing aspect of Unstable Enhancements and upped his Life to 6, and he felt a little comfier there.

Still planning on running a couple games (probably closer to the 1000 point mark, and experimenting with some different builds), but I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts on the changes.

Update: Ran him in a couple bigger games, shaking up the armies a little bit. He feels good to me at 170 - he can potentially get a lot of damage out, but at cost to himself.

Just looking at those first 3 tests and I see he took just 3 self wounds compared to 7 wounds healed, so I can see why you decided to drop the healing aspect. If you are okay with it, I am as well.

Ravager may attack with his normal attack up to 2 times at any point before, during, or after his normal move as long as he is on a space where he could end his movement. When Ravager attacks an adjacent Titan or Sidekick, you must add 2 to his Attack number. When Ravager attacks any other adjacent figure, you may add 2 to his Attack number.

UNSTABLE ENHANCEMENTS
After taking a turn with Ravager, roll 1 unblockable attack die against Ravager for each time you added to his Attack number with his Enhanced Assault special power this turn. If you did not add to his Attack number with Enhanced Assault this turn, you may remove a Wound Marker from this card.

SPITEFUL DEFENSE
If Ravager is attacked by a figure within 5 clear sight spaces, instead of rolling defense dice, you may choose for Ravager to receive all wounds from that attack. If you do and Ravager receives at least one wound, the attacking figure also receives one wound, even if Ravager is destroyed by that attack.

Without the healing in there, that also prompts switching back to Combat Dexterity and Unstable Enhancements. So keeping everything the same but shuffling the effects a bit, I've got the current write-up looking like this:
