I assume that "up to a maximum of -3 dice" means "up to a maximum of 3 fewer dice", not that the player must roll -3 dice.

Unless my assumption is somehow wrong, I'm intrigued by their ability to work as a multi-life squad and I vote YES to review the Greenspawn Assassin.

Yes, I was worried about that, but it has some precedence in Shield Wall. "Fewer dice" would probably be a better wording, but I think it's fine where it is, as long as you don't try to roll -3 dice.

Actually the sculpt is the size of Goblins; so the Goblins would be better proxies.

The thing about Ambush is that, against something tough, 2 Assassins can move adjacent and attack with 4 dice apiece, while the third can then Knife Throw with a guaranteed -2 to Defense.

Yep.

But they only get to do it once per round, and that's assuming that they can arrange to be within proper striking distance while juggling single activation OMs in the mean time. It could be really powerful, but at a glance it look close enough that it deserves some table time to check it out.
