Re: The Book of C3G Equipment Glyph Rules

Ok, well you can ignore question 2; wisecrack 13 says attack dice.
But for other non-specific purposes, do e-glyph powers count as special powers on the figure? Which, without the cards in front of me, would be affected by Scarlet Witch's hex sphere disturbance, or possibly characters that can't be targeted by another figures special powers that require clear sight?

1. Figures do NOT have to end their movement on an e-glyph to pick it up, is this correct? (They can pick it up and continue moving)
2. Are e-glyph powers, such as Mandarin's energy blast rings, affected by power's on army cards, such as Deadpool's Wisecrack 13?
3. Can you use e-glyph powers, such as Mandarin's energy blast rings, on non-adjacent opponent's figures while the figure with the glyph is engaged?
4.

A Unique Hero can only carry one Equipment Glyph at a time. If a Unique Hero you control carrying an Equipment Glyph lands on another Equipment Glyph, after activating the Glyph you may choose to replace the glyph already on the Unique Hero’s card with the newly activated Glyph.
Does this text mean that a figure equipped with an e-glyph can stand on a second e-glyph and, while standing on the glyph, can use both?

Thanks!
  1. False. Our rule book says to treat Equipment Glyphs as normal glyphs, with a few exceptions. I believe you may be thinking that DnD Treasure Glyphs are normal, but they are not. When a figure moves onto a normal glyph, its movement ends.
  2. No, because Wisecrack 13 is triggered by an "attack".
  3. Yes, because it isn't an "attack".
  4. No. Our Rule Book states that Equipment Glyphs are only used by Unique Heroes while they are equipped, unless otherwise stated.

Glyph powers, are special powers, but those special glyph powers are not on any figure's card, and they do not belong to any figure. Glyph special powers are simply used by figures.
Without any specific example, that is the best I can do to answer that "question".

Thanks for playing Ask That Griffin.

Thanks Griff - I knew I shouldn't have believed my friend's argument and changed my mind on the movement thing!

With question 4, that's what I thought, but I was unclear as to which glyph was activating before the choosing to replace the glyph phase.

Thanks for clearing all that up!
(you win the first person I've given +rep to award!).

And Griffin gets a gray square. Thanks for asking those questions, I usually enjoy answering them.

Losing Equipment Glyphs: If a figure you control that is carrying an Equipment Glyph is destroyed or wounded, choose one opposing player to immediately place the Glyph power-side up on an empty space within 5 spaces of the space your figure last occupied.
Any thoughts on changing this to 5 clear sight spaces? It seems kind of weird that the glyph can go through walls.

Re: The Book of C3G Equipment Glyph Rules

No. We would have to give Glyphs hit zones to be able to see whether they are in clear sight or not.

Re: The Book of C3G Equipment Glyph Rules

Or you could redefine clear sight. Sort of like what was done with figures adjacent to spaces.

That isn't ideal. I am sticking to what Tickle said. Btw, what is weird about glyphs or figures for that matter getting thrown through walls and buildings? Have you ever read a comic book?

Re: The Book of C3G Equipment Glyph Rules

There is the impossible factor of being inside of a covered structure and knocking an item through a wall or a roof across a field - but I think I'd rather have little impossibilities than tinker with mechanics.

I like the ability for Glyphs to land in impossible places, though... I mean, in any story, when the Cosmic Cube falls somewhere, it's always in the least likely - but most interesting - place. So it goes!

I just imagine that structures like that have windows that the equipment crashed through.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Or just house rule that it can't go through buildings.

Sure. There's always that. I'd rather just give my buildings windows.
