Wow, those look pretty strong for RtW.

Re: Main event armies
The Monster Delivery has potential - order marker nightmare giving a greater potential for lost turns. You don't want those power units, unless of course you are just trying to make day 2.(the big flaw with RtW)
Last year's finals was Hounds versus Mohicans; I don't think a Mass, Stinger, Q9, or Braxas army will sit at the final table. The Everyone Lives could be a tough play with no screen, but it is still Q9 with Rae and Lags. Last edited by R˙chean; July 16th, 2015 at 07:39 PM. Reason: you really don't want to face hounds day1 with that braxbuild |

Re: Main event armies
I think you can get a good sense of what kind of armies can contend on Day 2 by looking at what armies have made it to the Top 4 in the 16 figure limit years. Obviously there are more armies besides those that can contend, but limiting the list to armies that the owner was able to beat at least twice on day 2 shows that they can lose to the kind of armies other people bring.
2013 10th Regiment x2, Raelin, Marcus, Sgt. Drake Spiders x4, Wyvern x2, Estivara Black Wyrmling x3, Red Wyrmling x3, Marcu, Fen Hydra, Raelin, Deathreavers x1 Axegrinders x3, Major Q9, Me-Burq-Sa 2014 Marrden Hounds x4, Arkmer Mohicans x3, Raelin, Brave Arrow, James Murphy Arrow Gruts x3, Swog Rider x3, Raelin, Mimring Gladiatrons x1, Blastatrons x2, Raelin, Eltahale There's a pretty wide variety of things in there. Lots of traditionally competitive figures in weaker builds mixed with not traditionally competitive figures in strong builds. More than half the armies have Raelin, which makes sense since she makes things a lot more consistent. The important thing is to make sure your army has a weakness in every matchup. IIRC, a lot of these armies (at least half) went 3-2 on Day 1, so that's the most important strategy. 10 Years of Gencon/Scapecon Battle Reports - Comic Battle Reports - Probability Calculator App - Reverse the Whip Army Archetypes "It's all about the game." - Sgt. Re: Main event armies
Huh, I thought those armies were already just crappy enough to barely make day 2 with a bit of luck. Thanks, vegietarian, for the perspective on the last two years. I am not sure how some of that stuff even managed to go 3-2 on day one. The Wyrmlings army looks like 2-3 material, and the Spiders team seems worthy of 1-4.

Player Matters Too
Well those armies were piloted by dok and Matthias Maccabeus respectively so there's that.
~Dysole, considering some interestingly wonky builds (in the S20 online prep event I'm running Moltenclaw, PKsx2, Brutesx2 and I'm in the semis. I'm considering the build but I have some more ruminating to do) My Twitch Channel where I play Scape and other things My YouTube Channel where the games get uploaded later Dysole's Draft Rankings Map Thread (Not responsible for psychic damage) Customs Battle Reports This sentence is seven words long. Re: Main event armies
This popped into my brain today and I would be curious to get some feed back from the pros.
Moltenclaw 170 Isamu 10 Death Stalkers x2 200 Death Reavers x2 80 ___________________ 460/ 16 figures In my mind it could be strong enough to get through day one, unless it faces off with multiple turtling/range armies. Order marker and unit placement would have to be spot on ... |
