Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
Potential proxies for the Zombikazes aren't hard to put together though. I could make a lot for not a lot of money.

Knowing they are easy for others to fabricate would help with a final decision. |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
All you need to do is get some zombie miniatures and glue/tape on some barrels. I found some paper cutout barrels even for the really cheap option.

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
I downloaded a paper barrel template to cut out a little bit ago that I found when I was looking for something else. Of course now I can't find where I downloaded it to but I figure I will eventually find it.
AHA! Found them. Last edited by robbdaman; December 14th, 2010 at 03:24 PM. Reason: Found them! |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
One thing I will be considering as a judge is "What would a tournament director do," because for me that's a big part of HeroScape.
With Sam Brown it's easy to make a reasonable accommodation: Says the TD, "You can use any 10th/4th repainted." With this, though, I think all that's being suggested is a way to make good-looking proxies. Which is fine & wonderful and I have no doubt it will lead to fun play, but it won't be changing my vote (not that anyone said it should). |

I just want to give others the opportunity to have a good proxy for an awesomely fun unit. Note: This isn't a "no" vote. I am still testing and deliberating. |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
Thanks Robb for the Barrel link at Amazon...now to get a few Zombies ... then after Christmas i will use my new camera to take a picture of the result. I hope I can show an easy way to make Zombikazies by the end of the year! Then I will reveal my vote

Made some adjustments because I am an art guy and wanted to make them look better.
There are also other sites that have miniature barrels out there. I'll post some later. |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla - nominations and discussion
It's entirely possible to build some good models, but it would be pretty difficult to get uniformity in sculpt design.
It would be pretty cool if somebody bought the Kings of War zombie pack and five sets of barrels from Amazon and built 10 sets of zombikazies. That's $60 in parts, or $6 per squad, but $10 per squad seems fair for the effort of assembling/painting. If that sort of production gets up and running, it really changes the dynamic of what we can do with customs. |
