I am going with Amis on this one.

Traverse means "to move" and so I see the Yetis moving over the glacier, or part of it, without leaving engagement if they are "placed" adjacent to the same figure they were are originally engaged with. I know the wording can be argued, but the interpretation makes sense to me.
