The Book of Captain Cold (I)
The Book of Captain Cold (I) C3G DC CHRISTMAS SPECIAL WORLD WAR WINTER The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Collateral Damage set. _________________________________________________________________Its model number and name are #037-039 / Captain Cold. Character Bio - "Leonard Snart was raised by an abusive father and took refuge with his grandfather, who worked in an ice truck. When his grandfather died, Len grew tired of his father's abuse and set out to start a criminal career (...) but knew he had to do something about the local hero, the Flash. Snart read an article that theorized that the energy emissions of a cyclotron could interfere with the Flash's speed. He designed a weapon to harness that power and broke into a cyclotron lab, intending to use the device to charge up his experimental gun. As he was finishing his experiment, a security guard surprised Snart. Intending to use his gun only to scare the guard, he inadvertently pulled the trigger and discovered that his weapon had been altered in a way he had never imagined. The moisture in the air around the guard froze. Intrigued by this twist of fate, Snart donned a parka and the aforementioned visor and declared himself to be Captain Cold - the man who mastered absolute zero. (...) Most recently Captain Cold was declared the leader of the Flash's Rogue's Gallery. His skill and experience have made him a strong leader to the likes of the Weather Wizard, the new Trickster, the new Mirror Master, and the new Captain Boomerang. (...) Like the majority of The Flash's Rogues, Snart has no real super power. He instead relies on his cold guns and instincts" (www.wikipedia.com). _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Captain Cold - Design Phase
NAME = CAPTAIN COLD
SECRET IDENTITY = LEONARD SNART SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = ROGUE PERSONALITY = GREEDY SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 90 COLD GUN SPECIAL ATTACK Range 4. Attack 3. For each skull rolled when attacking with this special attack, the defending figure rolls 1 fewer defense die. Figures with the Ice Resistance special power cannot be targeted for this special attack. If Captain Cold inflicts one or more wounds with this special attack, you may take an immediate turn with any Unique Rogue Hero you control within clear sight of Captain Cold. FROZEN MOLECULAR FIELD Opponents' figures must count all land spaces within 4 spaces of Captain Cold as Heavy Snow instead of their normal terrain types, and all non-land spaces within 4 spaces of Captain Cold as Slippery Ice instead of their normal terrain types. Ladder rungs are not affected by Frozen Molecular Field. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Captain Cold - Design Phase
Cool. A nice and simple Flash counter while still having usefulness in plenty of other army builds. I like it. He'll probably be pretty cheap 120-140 maybe.

Re: The Book of Captain Cold - Design Phase
Cool! Thanks for the feedback, guys. I thought there might be more desires to tweak here, but it's nice to see this is looking like a smooth one so far.
One thing I considered, but didn't include, was a Rogue faction power ... since he's kind of their leader, it would make sense on him. But I couldn't decide if that was something we needed or not. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Captain Cold - Design Phase
I'm not sure if the Rogues need synergy. They are a loose team much like the Sinister 6 from what I have read of them. I would be fine with or without a team power here. The class of Rogue is enough for me.

Re: The Book of Captain Cold - Design Phase
If we are going to put synergy on any DC heroes' villains, it should be Flash's. They are collectively known as "The Rogues" for a reason and have several times carried their own comic books, albeit mini-series. The ones mentioned in the Bio, along with Heatwave, Pied Piper, and to a lesser extent, Abra Kadabra, The Golden Glider, and the Top. I think it could be as loose as simply putting Rogues for all of them and then a power where Captain Cold's team can add one to Initiative roll for each Rogue on his team. Call it "Respect of the Rogues"
Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers. OK ... so ...
No Direct Synergy - Griff, Tickle Direct Synergy - Spidey Anyone else want to weigh in while the breathing period is still going? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
