Character Bio - Android 16 is Dr. Gero's sixteenth Android creation, modeled after Gero's deceased son. 16 was initially designed to serve Gero's vendetta against Goku, since Goku overthrew the Red Ribbon Army as a child. When 16 was initially awoken, his only goal was to kill Goku as his programming indicated. But 16 took a love to nature and humanity, eventually giving his life to protect the world from Perfect Cell during the Cell Games. 16's heroic sacrifice inspired Gohan to transform into a Super Saiyan 2, giving Gohan the power necessary to finally kill Cell and give the world 7 years of peace.

-Strategy, Tactics and Tips-

• Send Android 16 out early, using either his strong normal attack or Hell's Flash against hard-to-hit enemies. Bear Hug means Android 16 can function somewhat as a lockdown unit. You'll want Android 16 to die before the rest of your army to take advantage of 16 granting an extra turn to someone. Both Goku and Vegeta are good options for this extra turn, and Piccolo is also handy in order to fully charge and unleash a Special Beam Cannon with a single Order Marker.

Instead of moving and attacking with Android 16, you may choose an adjacent figure and roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 6 or higher, the chosen figure receives one wound. If you roll 16 or higher, also remove one unrevealed Order Marker at random from the chosen figure's card.

If there is only one enemy figure adjacent to Android 16, and that figure is small or medium, that figure may not move.

PROTECT THE LIFE I LOVED
When Android 16 is destroyed, you may place his figure on the Army Card of a Hero you control that is an Android, Cyborg, or Challenger. If you do, after taking a turn with that Hero, you may remove Android 16’s figure from that Hero's card to take one additional turn with that Hero.

Android 16 will be the first of the 3 androids from DBZ. His big moment in the story is actually his death - Android 16 gives a deathbed speech to Gohan which encourages him to let loose and turn into Super Saiyan 2. Mechanically it's designed to work with the Z Fighters (Challengers) or alongside his Android/Cyborg buddies that his creator Dr. Gero made, all of which are thematic allies.

Otherwise he's got some basic (but new) powers that represent some of his iconic attacks in the story and the video games. Mechanically Bear Hug works really well with a power requiring 16's death, and unlike Stuck this power has some counterplay which should be more fun for the opponent.

For powers like Bear Hug, I find it fun when they can interact with Super Strength somehow. Thematically it should be harder to hold someone with SS in place. Not sure exactly how that would be implemented and it may feel inelegant compared to what you have, so more food for thought than a demand or anything.

Hmm, interesting idea. One problem with that is that all the DBZ guys have Super Strength, so if it didn't work as well on figures with Super Strength, that makes thematic matchups not play thematically. Maybe it could work better on figures without SS, but there already are a few restrictions in place now and I'm not sure the increasing complexity would be worth it.

Yeah, I'd do something like:

BEAR HUG
If there is only 1 opponent's figure adjacent to Android 16, when that figure would begin its movement, if it does not have Super Strength, it may not move this turn. If that figure does have Super Strength, roll a combat die. If you roll a skull, that figure may not move this turn.

First power should be like "inflict a wound on that figure" or "the chosen figure receives 1 wound".

Also seems like we should be consistent between using "enemy" and "opponent's" between the other two powers instead of switching between them?

Alrighty, here's the wording updates and the update to Bear Hug (I also simplified the wording there a bit). I'm also thinking of taking his Life down to 5, to keep cost down and cement him more in a support role. Since one of 16's powers relies on him dying, I don't mind keeping his survivability slightly lower.
