Marvelscape - Second Expansion?
Since there's only a couple months before "The Reinforcements Arrive" well.... arrive, now's the point where we should start thinking who and what we'd like to see in the 2nd round of Boosters afterwards. So I figured what the hell, since there hasn't been a thread like this that I can see... why not start one. It should at least tide us over til December.
Note: For the sake of the argument, let's assume that Hasbro is going to do what they did with the first and second release. That is release 5 traditional heroes and 5 traditional villains. I know Punisher is more of an Anti-Hero, but from a traditional standpoint he kills people. And was nothing more than a villain in the comics originally. Still technically is. Heroes: 1. Cyclops - (Like Beast, we have one of the original X-Men.) 2. Daredevil - (We had Bullseye in the last expansion. Makes sense.) 3. Mr. Fantastic - (This would complete the original FF team.) 4. Storm - (An X-Man. Since there was none in the starter. Also ties to Black Panther.) 5. Thor - (A Founding Avenger - Along with Iron Man and Hulk.) Villains: 1. Magneto - (An X-Men Villain. Who hasn't been represented yet.) 2. Green Goblin - (We've had 3 Spider-Man villains. Time for the big one.) 3. Ultron - (Just an interesting choice. Also quasi-guarentees Pym for 3.) 4. Sabretooth - (Another X-Men villain. Quasi-guarentees Wolverine for 3.) 5. Electro - (Another Spider-Man Villain. Since we've had 2 last series.) How Beast won the right to be the first X-Man in Marvel Heroscape. |

Love when there's activity here. Anyway...
Heroes: Mr. Fantastic Wolverine (he's coming, may as well do it sooner rather than later) She Hulk (Marvelscape needs more women, plus I love Jen) Falcon (ditto for diversity, plus this set needs a low-cost flying hero) Daredevil Villians: M.O.D.O.K. (this thread's about what I'd like, right?) Green Goblin Kingpin (just to have another turn order manipulator) Magneto Mole Man (FF villian for the now-complete FF, plus it allows...) Third booster: Mole People! (MS' first squad, packaged just like the Zombies, natch) |

If they do Sententials I would expect something Jouten(SP?) sized and common (Though not necessarily a squad, if made as a squad it would be a squad of two...)
"We are all mad here" ~Cheshire Cat It is the domain of a geek to seek out meaning in that which seems trivial... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doWOd...elated&search= |

I've got to admit, I'll be happy with anything, really. With all the customs out there, I think that I can play marvelscape to my hearts content. When the new expansions come out, I'll just play with them.
With that said, I definitely would like to see Magneto, Wolverine, Green Goblin, Kingpin and DareDevil. |

The only ones I'm strongly betting on for Wave Two are Mister Fantastic and Daredevil.
Part of me thinks the headliner X-men are being saved for some special large expansion....there was a cryptic comment out of Gencon that seemed to indicate that might be a possibility...I can't find the quote now though, darn the search. |

I'd really like to see good and evil unique squads. SotM, Conflict Begins, the upcoming Marvel booster wave, and Waves 6, 8, and 8.5 are all unique-squad-free. The Rechets are kind of alone, even in a period of very heavy releases.
The Einar Imperium, Templar Cavalry, and presumably Marro Cavalry are showing what high-price commons can do, and the Marvels, TKN, Kato, etc. etc. are showing what high-price unique heroes can do, including lots of things they've never been allowed to do before. With all of their inherent weaknesses, unique squads that break the 120-point barrier could really be eye-poppingly powerful even by Marvel standards. There's been a fair amount of healing and flying range lately-- maybe we'll see a unique squad with one of those properties. Besides, if the next marvel booster wave comes out with, let's say, six squad figures and four heroes, it will really reset people's fears (hopes?) for the lifespan of the Marvel Heroscape line. If they're no longer on course to burn through the heroes and villains at the rate of 20-30 a year, it sends a message that Marvel is going to stick around as long as it wants. |

What I think we'll get...
Mr. Fantastic Daredevil A 2nd Tier Avenger character A 2nd Tier X-Men character Black Cat (since she ties in with Spider-Man) Green Goblin Mandarin Mysterio Kingpin A 2nd Tier X-Men villain What I actually would like to get... Mr. Fantastic Nightcrawler She-Hulk Gambit Luke Cage Mysterio Mr. Sinister Scalphunter Vertigo Mandarin Okay, numbers three and four are so unlikely that they'll probably remain on my wishlist forever. But a guy can dream, can't he? Samurai, check... Spider-Man, check... Ice Dragon, check... Dwarves, che- waitasec! |
