I know it’s crazy. Lady death rights have actually gone back to the original creator though, and he’s been kickstarting new comics for her every year or so. I just found out about them and haven’t been able to track them down yet but I’m pretty excited!
And Dynamite actually has the rest of the cast, and they’re doing a decent job with them, from the small amounts I’ve read. The lack of Lady Death is a huge void though.

We've only ever used Spirit as a class before, not a species. Any other thoughts on what her species should be?

Definitely not a demon!she was a normal human that gained powers from hell. There’s actually a plot in the series where she finds out she’s not even dead, so undead is out too. She has a bit of a crisis not knowing what she in anymore, but if I remember correctly she just stops caring because what she is physically doesn’t affect who she is.

So basically a mystery so I went with Spirit since it seemed pretty neutral for an afterlife based entity that’s not undead 😜

Anything else generic or neutral that we’ve used in the past?

Did some testing for this fool, sorry for the somewhat sparse reports. Not a lot to say or any big insights to offer when mostly all she has going on is 'hit things, then hit them but more so'.

Units: Death Takes a Holiday: Lady Death (340), Vampire Minions x3 (270)- 610 total vs Hail Britnado!: Captain Britain (285), Red Tornado (300), Skrull Infiltrator x2 (20)- 605 total

Game Summary:

This one was pretty much just a pure slug fest. Ultimately, Red Tornado was able to keep the Vamps from being able to engage efficiently (thanks in part to the particularities of this map) long enough for him and CB to get some solid hits in on Lady Death. She went down swinging though, and it really could have gone either way.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Dealt 4 wounds to Red Tornado and 1 to Captain Britain over 5 attacks.
• Queen of Blah Blah Blah: Bonded with Vampire Minions each turn.
• Hellforged Sword: Used on her only non-Desired attacking turn to push a wound through on Captain Britain
• Desire Equals Power: Activated on her 3rd OM of round one, then again on her 1st of round two.
• Damage Taken: Dealt 4 wounds by Red Tornado over 3 attacks, and 3 more by Captain Britain over 3 attacks (plus 1 overkill wound).

Result: Britnado rules the waves with Captain Britain at 3 Health and both Infiltrators deployed.

Units: Rematch of the Above

Game Summary:

Same idea as the first match, but on a map a little more friendly to non-flyers. Played out much the same, but between the Vamps being able to move in a little better and some good Bloodthirsty rolls, the Minions were able to come back after Lady D kicked the bucket again. Really though, with a little more luck going her way she could have plastered the other team. The dice come into play pretty heavily when both teams eggs are in so few baskets.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Dealt 5 wounds to Red Tornado over four attacks
• Queen of Blah Blah Blah: Bonded with Vampire Minions each turn.
• Hellforged Sword: Negated during all her attacks.
• Desire Equals Power: Activated on her 3rd OM of round one and 1st of round two, which where her only attacking turns.
• Damage Taken: Dealt 1 wound by Red Tornado in one attack, then she took another from him via disengagement, then he landed a crazy hit to put exactly 5 more wounds on her.

Result: Lady Death's minions win with 2 of their number still on the field.

Overall:
Lady Death seems ok to me. She will be more interesting if more common Undead become available to her, she really only has one viable option right now, as outside of the bonding she's just a beatstick. I will say I didn't care for Desire Equals Power. I have no idea how such a generic effect ties into such a specific name or what it's supposed to represent. I'd have thought by the name it would have been like a bonus for having all your Oms on her or something, instead it's just a random X reveal power-up. It didn't play very interestingly either, you pretty much always just want to pop it asap and even the downside of her sword being negated (however that works) doesn't really matter that much when her attack is getting boosted. It honestly just feels like padding added to beef up the design's power.
