Got a new unit out in the OP, would appreciate any additional feedback!

Xavix is really cool! I like what you've done with those powers.

Graviton Burst seems like it'd be a ton of fun, but only have really niche uses. Like pushing figures out of position for Gorillitroopers to gain an advantage, or maybe even shooting your own Nakita to trigger some Engagement strikes (this seems like a really bad idea)? But it seems like a fun, thematic attack. Might even end up being more a deterent than a power that actually gets used often.

His "second form" is cool both thematically and mechanically, as it turns him into a much better end game cleanup unit. A really scary endgame unit, that knows exactly who to target and can likely always get to them.

Overall, cool designs! I like it a lot!

You may want to consider posting new customs in your new posts and not just in the OP - it saves your readers the trouble of clicking back to page 1 and trying to figure out what your new card is.

Xavix will definitely not break the meta, if anything just from a lack of overall synergy (he's just ok with Gorillitroopers). Graviton Burst is a lot of fun, I enjoyed running Zelrig/Greenscales with Xavix to try to set up Majestic Fires at the end of rounds. Not super competitive but really tricky and a delight to play. Appreciate the feedback!

Xavix, Tinkerer


Description and Bio

Description: Xavix, Tinkerer is a small chimp-like primadon riding atop a snarling jaguar. Xavix has a large pack strapped to his back wired to a two-handled, particle beamer mounted on his chest. A variety of syringes with strange, glowing fluid are hanging from the jaguar’s saddle.

Bio: A maniacal laugh echoes across the battlefield as orcs and soulborgs alike are thrown, tossed by the fierce gravitational waves pounding into them. The primadons warned him the technology was too dangerous, too unstable, and yet, as Xavix looks at the fractured battlefield and crushed bodies, his satisfaction grows. Who could cast him aside now, who would exile an intellect so ravenous? And even in his glory, a stray arrow finds its way into Layla’s heart.

The jaguar roars, the howl of death piercing Xavix’s ears. With a cry, Layla crumples to the ground, throwing Xavix from her saddle. He crawls to her as Vydar’s enemies rally, seeing nothing but the pain in her eyes.

“Layla!” he screams, reaching for the syringes on her mount. They would help her, the water would. Give him visions of how to save her. It had to.

Xavix thrashes as the wellspring water enters a body not meant to hold the magic.

Xavix, Doomsayer


Description and Bio:

Description: Xavix, Doomsayer is a massive, disfigured gorilla beating its chest in agony. Lines on his face show his age, but powerful muscles and the remnants of his graviton weapon embedded in his skin demonstrate his true strength.

Bio: Layla’s whimpers fade, his pet jaguar’s corpse rotting in front of Xavix. The battle flows around him, possibilities surging, storming as the visions overtake his mind. His body seizes, the particle weapon rusting and fusing to his fur while his arms and chest expand. And as the last of the nightmares end, as temporal fabric itself weaves into his blood, he stands, beaten, older, haunted by the infinite outcomes of a battle in every possible time and tormented by every possible variation of the last breath leaving Layla’s body.

Only a mind like his could have survived. And he will avenge what was taken from him.

Initial Playtesting Thoughts

Despite the OM ability seeming very strong on paper, not many endgames are so chaotic that a good player can't predict placement anyway. And despite good stats, health, and movement, at the end of the day Doomsayer is a single-attacking hero with a ticking clock. Dropping him to 70 and Tinkerer to 60 felt appropriate, especially since in one game Tinkerer got killed before I got a chance to inject the wellspring water and summon Doomsayer. But, I'm really pleased with how the graviton burst SA turned out. It's really fun, and both Tinkerer and Doomsayer give a lot of "big options" throughout the game, especially when to bite the bullet and give the gorilla the steroids. And the OM viewing never felt too oppressive for my opponent, since you know it is coming and can plan your OMs around it. Plus, the visual of a giant, scarred gorilla crashing through their Mohicans and Kyrie was always cool. Overall I'm pleased with how the design turned out, but I wanted to get it in front of the eyes of much better designers before I submitted.

Xavix looks fun! I like the concept of a sophisticated unit triggering a second, roid-raged form. It reminds me of something you'd see in a Souls game (Looking at you Godfrey). Your submission also solves the one problem I have with Hrognak, in that I never play as the Unmounted version because he isn't riding a Triceratops, so he doesn't get used in that capacity. I hope this design space of units evolving or simply swapping gets explored more beyond the Wildwoods and Oathbound. Good luck in the contest!
