5-5 Crud, I missed a battle.

I'm going for:
A_Train We already saw what happens to the Hydra when the fight goblins.
Newguy death by massive array of stingers
MattyG As much as I'd rather vote for Brian, Q9 could blast the crud out of the dwarves.

Alright round 1. The votes are 17-1 in favour of A_Train. (I didn't tally the others, but Newguy and Brian seem to be the Heavy favourites).


Ezze vs A_Train


The first pic sucks, but after that I think I have my camera settings right. The Airborne drop early, and blast away at Raelin, putting 4 wounds on her. The other AE can't reach Raelin, so they attempt but fail to wound the Hydra. The Hydra takes out the two closest Elite.


The Hydra deals with some pesky Goblins while Kelda moves in to heal Raelin by 1.





The goblins manage to mob one head off of the Hydra.


The Hydra kills another goblin, but can only get one at a time.


The Airborne put another wound on the Hydra.



Another Goblins falls.


Everytime Raelin gets down to 1 health, Kelda moves in to heal her. She did eventually bring her back to having only one wound.


The Hydras fury through a Goblin and take out my AE.




The goblins move in to Mob the wounded Hydra down.


Krug moves in and goes head to head with the second Hydra. The Hydra comes out on top, but is wounded down to 1 head.



Kelda gets the full heal on the Hydra however, crushing my dreams of using the goblins to surround and take out his single attacking heroes. Ezza finishes the remaining goblins.


Ezze wins. Wow, only Filthy the Clown bet against me on that one, and he gets it right.

Post match thoughts:
Well my confidence was shaken on that one, Ezze's army was one of the ones I thought I should be able to overwhelm. If I couldn't beat that one, it may turn out to be a long day. I tried to take out Raelin early, but could never put the final wound on her, and Kelda was healing her up. In hindsight, I really shouldn't have been so aggressive with the AE, and should have held back taking potshots instead of trying to take Raelin out so quickly. With 16 goblins scurrying, I could have flooded the field, and left the Airborne a safe distance away from the Hydra. Eventually I should have been able to break down their 8 defense. But hindsight is 20/20.

Newguy also defeated Patrick easily. Shocking.
