I like it so far. But I should mention that the shardblade does not degrade in combat. It's always in pristine condition. So we should probably remove the degradation part from that power.

That's a good point about losing speed as the armor gets damaged. Maybe "For every two wounds on this army card subtract 1 from Dalinar's move" or something along those lines.

The blade is described as being the size of a full grown man in the books, so probably around 6 foot. We could easily justify giving him a range of 2 but I think with everything else he has going on that might be a bit overkill.

Also for a mini I'm liking the look of this guy

I don't quite understand Shardplate. Is there ever a time when he would not get the extra Move? Aside from Morsbane negating him?

Negation is my thinking. If he gets the move from the armor and we have the armor on his card, should he lose the armor, I assume he should lose the move gained from the armor now lost.

What if he had a version of Frenzy for his third ability. Roll high and take another turn. Roll low and lose turns/remove OMs. Currently he is a thug, but he doesn't rampage?

I don't think a frenzy really fits with him. He's a man of honor who is all about control.

I think losing the Thrill should be a whole negative ability as that is how it is presented in the books. Dalinar was once a widely respected and feared warrior, but now whenever he steps out onto the battlefield his allies fear him as a liability because he freezes with guilt whenever he takes another person's life.

Should his personality reflect this guilt? Tormented? Mourning? Regretful?

After Dalinar destroys a figure you must immediately roll a 20 sided die. On a roll of 7 or lower remove all unrevealed Order Markers from this Army Card. Daliner may not move or attack for the rest of the round.

Here's a new draft. Since Shardplate now includes losing defense and adding move I figured the bit about losing the defense bonus could be included in the Shardblade power.

For personality I'm a little on the fence. Valiant and Regretful both describe who he is but if he could only be summed up in one word I would have to say Valiant.

Fluff wise Dalinar has dedicated his whole life to being a nobel man who champions honor and virtue. Even people who don't like him still respect him for his strong moral beliefs.

Mechanic wise I would rather stick with Valiant as it offers him synergy options and is an 'official' personality whereas 'Regretful' isn't.

What about:

SHARDPLATE
Dalinar Kholin starts the game with 3 Stormlight markers on his Army Card and adds 1 to his Defense and Move for each Stormlight marker on his card. Each time Dalinar Kholin receives 2 or more wounds, remove a Stormlight marker from this card.

SHARDBLADE
When Dalinar Kholin attacks a figure with a normal attack, if the defending figure doesn't have the Shardblade or Shardplate power, it can only roll 1 defense die. If the figure has the Shardplate power, remove a Stormlight marker from the defending figure's Army Card for each damage dealt instead of for every 2 damage dealt.



Perhaps oomph to get past rat walls:
When Dalinar Kholin attacks a figure with a normal attack, choose up to two other adjacent figures to also be affected by the attack. Defending figures that don't have the Shardblade or Shardplate power only roll 1 defense die. [...]

This latest version enables Dalinar to really carve up the battlefield, making each order marker more valuable to offset the disastrous drawback of losing everything.
