Here are some amazing figures I thought would be cool in Heroscape, I did not buy all of them because, well, I'm not rich, and I still hope to get some of the actual figures yet, but in some cases, these minis were IMO nicer looking than the HS originals, so I will be rebasing them when they get here

Haha, I am no expert, more just trying to find some alternatives for now to some of the more pricey units, and when you look at a mini on troll and toad for example theres 3 or 4 related minis which show up at the bottom of the page so you quite quickly get into a huge web of links and start to think how you can use them. I have a whole huge list of awesome customs as well, some I will just "move" stats over, and some maybe create my own

I am trying to collect quite a nice batch of the originals, but part of me feels like I am being a bad dad by throwing money away for something that my kids wont REALLY care about, like they would probably be happy with using the toys they have lying around for figures, and maybe thats actually a more rewarding experience for them.

So I guess I am treading the middle ground of buying some of the real figures, partly because I like them so much and partly because I think it will be cool later, and at the same time, buying some cheaper alternatives for the kids to later make up their own characters and stats.

That is what we did from the beginning when everything was still relatively cheap.
We found we liked some of our proxys more than the real thing.

You only need the real figures for tourney play and you can usually find someone to loan you what you need if you plan ahead so proxy until the cows come home.

I have some designs for 2000AD characters that have no figures/minis currently(at least not plastic ones). I may try to pick your brain in the future.

A couple of those knight figures are also used for c3v's knights of Blackkguard, and the lizard folk figure is a c3v hero named zogross hardscale.

Not sure this quite constitutes proper use of this thread, but this is figuratively killing me. I was trawling around the internet looking for minis to turn into customs, and I found this photo:


I'm wondering if anybody recognizes the black ghost mini on the far right. The blog I found it on claims it's a rebased HeroClix mini of some sort, but doesn't specify a name or set. Curiosity's driving me up the wall. Anybody know what it is?
