If you roll a blank, that figure subtracts 1 from its Defense number when defending against Trunks’ normal attack this turn. After using this special power, place Trunks adjacent to one of the chosen figures.

SHINING SWORD ATTACK
If Trunks attacks an adjacent figure with his normal attack and at least one skull is rolled, he may either attack:
•an adjacent figure again with his normal attack, rolling 1 fewer attack die; or,
•with his Burning Attack Special Attack.

BURNING ATTACK SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 5. Attack 4.
After an opponent rolls defense dice against this special attack, you may Knockback the defending figure by placing it on an empty space exactly X spaces from its current position, where X is the number of skulls rolled in the attack. A figure moved by this special attack never takes any leaving engagement attacks but can receive any falling damage that may apply.

R2: Broly wins initiative. Yamcha misses his Wolf Fang Fist. Broly Eraser Cannons everyone, landing a wound on Trunks, 3 wounds on Yamcha, and a wound on himself. Trunks lands a wound on Broly. Trunks is taken down by Broly. Android 18 lands a solid Infinity Bullet taking down Broly.

Dang, that was quick! Great game though Karat!

Winning Team: Android 18 with 1 life remaining and Yamcha with 2 life remaining.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: One of my favorite DBZ characters. I really like how he plays, the connection between powers feels so smooth like a fighting game combo. Love Rapid Sword Stream, getting those unblockables on 3 different targets is so nice, if the dice are in your favor. Shining Sword Attack is a nice change-up on Swordplay, when you can pull off a normal attack and special in the same turn it feels nice and thematic to Trunks. Burning Attack helps control the enemy, even without dealing wounds. Sidenote, I think it’s awesome that you got 3 of his actual power names on this design. 250 seems fitting for a point cost, he is most definitely a glass cannon, he can do a lot, but he is super squishy. If he gets too close to a big nasty fella, he’s probably gonna take a few wounds easily. Overall, love it!

Vegeta should work really well with Trunks, since Prince of All Saiyans lets me put all OMs on Trunks and then take a turn with either Trunks or Vegeta.

Trunks rushes in and uses a Rapid Sword Stream to wound one Xeno and reduce the defense of another. Trunks then kills one Xeno with his first normal attack, his second is blocked, then he chooses to use Burning Attack, which is also blocked. Krillin kills a second Xeno, but Trunks takes 2 wounds from Acidic Blood. The Xenos then bring Future Trunks to 4 wounds.

Xenos win init and kill Trunks. Xenos kill Krillin and Vegeta kills 2 Xenos before being forced into his Super Saiyan form. Vegeta faces off against the Queen. Vegeta brings the Queen to 5 wounds before being taken down.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Alien Queen (5 wounds), 1 Alien Drone (0 wounds) win

Ultraman wounds Krillin early on with his heat vision, and Superwoman actually lassos Yamcha who then kills Krillin with Wolf Fang Fist. So go Yamcha? Future Trunks attacks Superwoman but is blocked. Yamcha then blocks Ultraman’s punch, proving who the strongest Z-Fighter really is. Trunks uses Rapid Sword Stream to wound Superwoman and Ultraman, but then whiffs his second normal attack roll which breaks the Shining Sword Attack chain.

Piccolo and Gohan both wound Ultraman. Trunks gets some 3-skull rolls and kills Superwoman. Ultraman gets blocked twice. Trunks puts 2 wounds on Owlman before Owlman kills him, while Ultraman inflicts a single wound on Yamcha. Piccolo heals his wound at the end of the round, then Yamcha kills Ultraman. Owlman rolls poorly and can’t hit Piccolo or Gohan, and he falls to a special beam cannon followed by Gohan’s normal attack.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Piccolo (0 wounds), Yamcha (2 wounds), Gohan (0 wounds) win.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Fun design, very offense-focused and dies quickly on defense, which seems in character for Trunks. 250 seems spot on with these results.

I'm thinking we are good here with an overall record of 4-3. I gave it an extra 7 days to see if the public wanted to sign up at all but I think we are good here.

Seems to be coming in a little hot looking at the last 4 games, especially that last game where the challengers seemed to just crush the crime syndicate. Was it just some lucky/unlucky rolls?

Yeah, Ultraman couldn’t roll skulls and kept being blocked by 4 and 5 defense figures. For the Crime Syndicate, they live or die by Ultraman wounding things (to activate the bonding).
