It was looking like Carol would take it easily, but then once Cap fell, Fist hit her, then Spider-Man was able to pull her down which depleted her defense down to 2 thanks to All-Out Offense. Spider-Man and Cage finished her off as well as Star-Lord.

Captain Marvel(Carol Danvers) with 1/6 wounds.

Close game with a lot of alternating momentum. It looked like the Fighters would take it again after they disposed of Cap so quickly, but Carol managed to start gathering her own momentum. It came down to Spider-Man failing a roll early on and eating a lot of wounds, which made the difference for the match.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
I dig her. She's got some good tactical options, as well as some decent attack vs. defense strategy going on. As a Champion she'll have some interesting synergy options with the Justice League, but of course she fits in well as a Cap + Star-Lord recruit. 370 feels about right based on what I experienced. The first game showed her vulnerability, and the 2nd game showed her offensive potential. Good stuff.

If somebody could knock out a couple more games here, focusing on the Champion synergies, I think we could put a bow on Carol - I'm satisfied with where she's at in terms of Cap/Star-Lord synergies. Just want to stress-test the Champion stuff and make sure it's not gonna push her price point any higher.

I've been really dragging my heels getting the Yakuza initial done, I think I may have bitten off too much to start with and then the Summer months came and it's easy to find other things to do. I'll try to get it done sooner than later though and after that I can give her a spin is she's still not wrapped up. Other than the JL cards we made, what other Champion synergy are we concerned about?

I am hesitant to try that one as I have never dug into the whole new DC JL synergy.

I fear it would take a few games just to figure out how to run it.

She plays really well with Sif, but Sif is more a complement than a figure you can build around. I'd be curious about Mongul as well.

Game Summary:

So the general idea here is Carol is the main player, but both Sups and Herc can be useful to throw an OM on occasion after she has already moved them up a bit. Sups also helps protect Carol and basically turn Hercules's Test of Might into a one-sided boost for a bit. Not really a lot to say here, it's a pretty simple smashy army and they simply smashed the other team, though they were helped by the lack of 'screw you normal attacks!' type powers among Thor's group and just generally good dice luck.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Eventually killed Thor after a few attacks, dealt 2 wounds to Bill.
• Field Commander Used to roll Herc and Supes up several times. The OM rearrange was mostly used to let Supes 'store' OMs for her as an extra layer of protection, but she did chuck a few to Herc so he could Test some fools.
• All-Out Offense: Activated it ASAP every round.
• The Best Defense: Hit Sif for one wound.
• Damage Taken: Took two wounds from Thor after Supes ran out of blocks, Sif finished her off over the course of a few attacks.

Result: Hercules wins the contest with 4 life remaining.

Game Summary:

So the basic idea here is Carol can just go full bore at the enemy with Jackal backed by Batman ready to clone her if needed, Atom running some interference, and War Machine just generally being a nasty dude to give free moves to. Worked pretty darn well as once she did go down Jackal picked her right back up again. Her second life didn't last too long, but by the time she re-died what was left of the other team couldn't really deal with Batman especially when they where also racing to avoid another marvelous return.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Pulped Kang, eventually killed Volstagg during her second life.
• Field Commander Used to move Warmachine up several times while she got to blasting, Batman made the OM rearranging bit mostly redundant so it was never used.
• All-Out Offense:Activated it ASAP every round.
• The Best Defense: Discouraged Kang from taking pot shots a few times, clipped Hogun once.
• Damage Taken: The Warriors Three killed her once, then again after they went down to the Warriors Two.

Result: Jackal (3 life), and Bats (2 life) hang around to wait for Carol's third coming.

Game Summary:

Looking things over again I realized Carol works with Martian Manhunter (and to a lesser extent Cyborg) a bit better than I thought, so I decided to try a big super army with some cheap but efficient Vigilantes rounding out MM's marker count (and given Batman some nice D-20s to work with). Cyborg helped the team barely win the first initiative, and from there Carol, Supes and Echo teleported up to form the start of a pseudo-pod. After that Carol and J'onn acted as Co-Captains to give the team a reasonable level of efficiency, but the other team got a few more triple turns then the Justice League could handle and eventually team Asgard took the win. Weirdly, Carol almost felt like the 'missing piece' of the Justice League here and looking back on it, if I had a War Machine type figure (or some other form of disruption that likes free moves and D-20 boosts) instead of some of the Vigilantes this could have probably been close to an A ranked army.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): Hit the Destroyer for 3 wounds.
• Field Commander Used to move up the army on most of the non-J'onn turns she was alive for. The OM bit let Cyborg boost initiative without really costing an OM in the first round, and was used a few times after that to get the right person taking a turn at the right time.
• All-Out Offense:Activated it ASAP every round.
• The Best Defense: Never actually wounded anyone, which was just bad luck really.
• Damage Taken: Thor and the Destroyer Armor eventually tag-teamed her to death.

Result: Odin at 6 life and Heimdall at 4 remain to reflect on Asgard's costly victory..

Overall: Really digging this design, I'm glad Carol's encore performance is as solid as her first. She feels fine to me point-cost wise.

Looks to me like she's in a good place. She can play well with the JL, but they're not pushing her price above where she's balanced for Cap and Star-Lord.
