Re: The Book of Animated Vines (Breathing)
Might there be a way to perhaps make them less attractive to pods.

Re: The Book of Animated Vines (Breathing)
Maybe take away the jungle plant def. bonus aspect?

Re: The Book of Animated Vines (Breathing)
I've considered that as well. It'd essentially allow Ivy II to offer a static +1 defense when adjacent to them, but they themselves aren't offering the +1 defense against non-adjacent attacks that Jungle does naturally.

I Heard It Through The Animated Vine
COMPETITIVE REVIEW BOARD CHECKLIST
Competitive Concerns Does the design offer worrisome Order marker movement or efficiency? Maybe... I'm not really sure what category this fits under but being able to move 3 blockers that give +1 defense to range (for most figures) each turn you take with a plant animator is...potentially good. Does the design offer superior Auto wounding? No. Does the design cause the prevention of abilities (Blob, Polaris, Meteorite)? No. Does the design move other figures? No. Does the design boost other figures (outside of a narrowly defined set)? No. Does the design have one or more excellent defensive powers? I mean Regrowth isn't strictly a defensive power, but it does the same kind of thing. Does the design auto destroy or take control of other figures in a way that unbalances the design? No. Does the design have any other concerns? I guess I could've put the movable jungle trees complaint here. Like dok, that's a thing that I could see getting abused. Summary of Any Competitive Concerns/Suggestions for Changes: Movable regenerating defense granting blockers is not inherently bad, but watch it. It could be. ~Dysole, swinging through the vines My Twitch Channel where I play Scape and other things My YouTube Channel where the games get uploaded later Dysole's Draft Rankings Map Thread (Not responsible for psychic damage) Customs Battle Reports This sentence is seven words long. Re: The Book of Animated Vines (Breathing)
When you look at the checklist, you can see why the Ivy1+Animated Vines combo concerns me, since this gives her reliable access to autowounding and figure movement restriction (i.e. she's no longer terrain dependent). And she already had the figure control power.
Again, I'm not raising a full claxon "this is broken" alarm here. I'm just saying this unit very much fits into the style of play that's been most concerning on the competitive scene. Am I the only one who, when seeing "Animated Vines", thought "didn't that site just shut down?" |

EDIT: also, yea. Really wouldn't mind making them less working to pods though. ".... the Cambridge ladies do not care, above Cambridge if sometimes in its box of sky lavender and cornerless, the moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy" |

Re: The Book of Animated Vines (Breathing)
Inside joke I must be missing.
Any who. dok could you lay your concerns out for me? I am missing on how to exploit this to the fullest. A cloud can change its semblance, yet retain its will With the intimacy of destruction, One knows what it is to be alive The empty sky holds no reflection, for sorrow - Eslo Rudkey |

Beating dok to the Punch?
Here.
As for concerns, Ivy is already good since she autowounds, prevents figure movement, and takes control of other figures. Giving her blockers who can give her defense from range and fuel the autowounds/figure movement restriction feels like a recipe for some really annoying stuff. ~Dysole, who thinks dok might be able to phrase it better My Twitch Channel where I play Scape and other things My YouTube Channel where the games get uploaded later Dysole's Draft Rankings Map Thread (Not responsible for psychic damage) Customs Battle Reports This sentence is seven words long.
