I am leaning toward before. I think he will get more out of it that way for he can teleport within Mantrap range and then trap and move away or engage the trapped figure or possibly another figure for FoF.

Could I please get the CRB to give Judge Fear a once over before I move on.
Let me know your thoughts on making Mantrap a glyph or markers and anything else you can think of noting. Also any suggestions for combos with Fear that could be worrisome, like Wolverine and Sinestro. I am thinking Enchantress could be solid and perhaps Blob to lock down a figure engaged to Fear. Notheing too crazy is popping out at me right now. I like that Mantrap has a limitation on non SS figs (otherwise it would be extremely powerful)

Well Face of Fear certainly got a lot more interesting since last I saw it, I like that he actually works with Judge Death in some capacity now (the original 'minus defense for oms' power made Fear pretty much the last figure I would ever draft with Death) . Nothing is really standing out as an issue here. Mantrap is the more potentially 'combotastic' ability, but the non SS limit really keeps it in check.

C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT (Judge Fear) - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. ?Pass - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. ?Pass - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. ?Pass - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit too powerful or too weak. ?Pass - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. ?Pass - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. ?Pass - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. ?Pass - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. ?Pass - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. ?Pass - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. ?Pass Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 135, maybe less. - Give a brief overview. The drop in Attack certainly lowered his offensive abilities, his shield negating is still quite strong. Mantrap was hard to get value from one on one.

Looking good so far. I am going to continue forward at 135 and Mantrap being used before moving and instead of attacking.

Teleport allows him to get into a good position but you still have to spend an OM to move him adjacent to an enemy, this is a good time to use Mantrap if possible(though Mantrap has not been very useful so far). Face of Fear is a nice power but generally works best for Fear alone. If you leave him static it is fairly easy to negate FoF by either engaging him with another figure or by leaving engagement. The cool thing is that he becomes a lower priority target and the enemy goes for the main attacker(s). It is easier to negate FoF than to destroy him so he ends up in a clean-up roll that he is decent at performing. Would anyone object to changing Mantrap to activate on an opponent's movement? This would make it much more useful and it has not proved to be thus far. MANTRAP Start the game with two gray Mantrap Markers on this card. When an opponent's Small or Medium Unique Hero within 2 clear sight spaces of Judge Fear that does not have the Super Strength special power begins to move, you may place a Mantrap Marker from this card onto the chosen Hero's card. A figure other than Judge Fear with a Mantrap Marker on its card cannot move or target a non-adjacent figure for an attack. If a figure other than Judge Fear with a Mantrap Marker on its card receives one or more wounds, remove all Mantrap Markers from that card.
