Decently close match and felt pretty even luck wise on each side, if not maybe just slightly in the favor of the Asgardians who landed some big attacks. May reign in Mighty Mjolnir in a hair just to be safe.

Close game. Thor fell pretty quick, but did some nice damage before going out, and moved his allies up to allow for their first turns to be within striking distance.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
He's got solid offensive power combined with high potential for threat range and some battlefield control. Staying power wasn't there in these games as the wounds just worked out each time to not kick Invulnerable into play, which is pretty much botch insurance from bigger attacks once he's a few wounds away. He didn't feel too difficult to take down, so focusing in on him usually does the trick, but you can also cut away at his bonding options too which can help if you're afraid of Invulnerable potentially keeping him around. The bonus turns feel strategic and powerful, but limited to once per round and tied to how many turns you've taken with him/OMs revealed keeps it in check. Makes for a nice Asgardian + Warrior leader, which a lot of them pair well with him such as Sif, Valkyrie, The Warriors Three, and Hawkman + Hawkgirl being the ones I tried and enjoyed. 460-480 feels like the right window power wise.

I'll be interested to hear how the other playtests go. For me I felt like I had some even teams, but Thor was really strong. He might have been too much at 600 points, or maybe he just over performed for me.

Mighty Mjolnir: Used almost every turn doing 12 wounds on 22 rolls. Was able to move some Giants off of height or Snow. D20 was very kind only once rolling lower than a 9, hit a 17 and a 19, and was able to cover a lot of ground.

Drop the Hammer: Used every round, on every 3rd marker taking turns with 3 other figures

Invulnerable: Did not come into play

This was a 4 round one sided smashing. Thor almost soloed this game. His teammates combined for 8 wounds with Thor doing the other 25 wounds, and only taking 1 wound. Thor flew all over using Mighty Mjolnir and dropped bombs with his normal attack. The Giants never had a chance.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Thor 1 wound/7 life remaining, Valkyrie full 7 life, Drax 3 wounds/3 life remaining, Sif 4 wounds/2 life remaining

I had time, so I played my 1st game over again, but I had similar results. Maybe the Giants just aren't as good as I thought they were. Thor was pretty dominate. His team did take more wounds though. I think the map worked in Thors favor.

His teammates were able to clog up the middle so he could use Mighty Mjolnir and get behind his troops and still use his range(usually from height which is 7v. Most of the Giants would have hads to take 2 LEAs to disengage to get to Thor. Mighty Mjolnir is very strong, 1st d 20 roll R1T2 was a 17, which killed all 3 Blackhawks(and order marker 2) and R1T3 d20 was a 20. Resulting in 6 wounds on the 2 rolls.

Mighty Mjolnir: Used almost every turn doing 5 wounds on 12 rolls. Was able to move some units onto lava rocks which did a couple of wounds at the end of a round. Not as friendly of a d20 this game. Rolls were 14, 2, 5, 10, 6, 5, 5, 11

Drop the Hammer: Used every round, on every 3rd marker taking turns with 3 other figures

Invulnerable: Came into play twice keeping Thor alive from big attacks by Executioner and Wonder Man

Still not much of a game. 6 round game which saw Thor doing quite a bit of damage. Thor did take some big hits from Executioner and Wonder Man. Thor went down in the beginning of the fifth round, but at that point it was only a 4 wound Wonder Man verses 2 full Asgardian Warriors.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Pink Asgardian Warrior 5 full life, Yellow Asgardian Warrior 1 wound/4 life remaining.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: To me Thor felt very overpowered. 470 seems quite a bit low. He's an awesome(and needed) leader for Asgardians/Warriors.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: This version of Thor seems too much. I feel like Mighty Mjolnir needs to be scaled back to include instead of attacking normally and/or limited to once per round. It probably takes the fun out of him though. His other two powers seem strong but I don't think should change. The one problem I noticed is that with Drop the Hammer, your other figures are typically only moving on the X-marker on the third turn of the round. Most of the time they felt away from the action, especially because most of the bonding options don't have range. They always felt like they were playing catch up to Thor. Some cool ideas here, but at least in my games Thor was way too strong.

He went 1-2 for me, all 3 games up against normal synergistic teams, none of which were blowout big wins like his first one there, so I'd be curious how that happened. Especially with big hitters in Laufey and his ability to take double turns with Frost Giants. Perhaps just a luck driven game? Not sure. But him walking away with only 1 wound is crazy to me with only 6 def. against their attacks. lol

For his 2nd game, he played him 10 point lower, and all-in-all 2 Asgardian Warriors left is still considered close.

We'll see what Archie comes up with, but I don't want to prematurely cut him down from Ericth's first game's big win if it's not a trend.

Games with that many heavy hitters do end up being swingier sometimes so I wouldn't read too much into one test like that.

The map might be involved too. Thor has flying and the Frost Giants don't and it was on Alkali Lake. I'm guessing Thor flew up to the damn and just tossed his hammer away from long range and the Giants mostly got killed off before they reached him.
