Its model number and name are #105 / Superman. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - When Kryptonian Kal-El’s rocket crashed on Earth and farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent decided to raise him as their son Clark, little did they know that this child would one day grow into a powerful man who would decide to don a cape and become a worldwide symbol of justice, ushering in a new era of heroism. SECRET IDENTITY = KAL-EL SPECIES = KRYPTONIAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CHAMPION PERSONALITY = INSPIRING SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 7 MOVE = 7 RANGE = 4 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 7 POINTS = 380 FREEZE BREATH 11 Before taking a turn with Superman, you may choose up to two figures adjacent to Superman. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 11 or higher, the chosen figures subtract 1 from their Defense number and may not move this player turn. THIS LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR SUPERMAN When Superman attacks an adjacent figure with his normal attack, add 3 + X to his Attack number. X equals the number of Wound Markers on the cards of friendly figures engaged with the defending figure, up to a maximum of 3. HEROIC INSPIRATION If Superman is destroyed by an enemy figure, for the remainder of the game, all Unique Heroes you control add 1 to their Attack number and any 20-sided die rolls. If he's coming in a bit strong, lowering the range on his inspiration should be the easiest tweak. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Yeah that was mainly to account for Green Arrow. Perhaps another direction would be giving them a +1 against figures he's engaged with?

Sure, if a tweak is needed. I dig the current approach thematically, though. It scans for me that Superman locking up a bad guy inspires everyone to fight harder, not just against the guy he's fighting.

Could also go without a range(still clear sight), but make it trigger off of him having to inflict a wound. Adds a little more to the WW combo.

Seems like it would make more sense for him to get the turn before the other person? That way they could use the attack boost/freeze breath benefits after he goes and you wouldn't be overextending people expecting him to show up but then he's just not feeling it that day.
Bonding with everyone and attack boosting them is really good, but probably ok balance wise. He seems like he'd like that one Wolverine that starts with wounds. Before taking a turn could work, though I'm not sure how that would work in combination with Green Arrow:

As written it'd currently stack with Martian Manhunter (II) as well, so long as the second turn you take with MM is actually taken with MM. I like that combination, though.

My biggest concern with the before approach, would be TLLAJFS making putting Order Markers on Superman not as encouraged. You’d want the OMs on others, in hopes of the Superman bonus triggering.
Here’s a potential alternative approach that I’m finding myself liking: Quote:
Pairs well with all sorts of what the JL is offering... •Batman offers the d20 aid, as well as OM retrieval when he falls. •Canary Cries as he’s taking on wounds. She also acts as a hub up in the fray thus a natural target for the opponent, boosting Superman’s attack to protect. •Canary, Green Arrow, and MM can reap the benefits of Freeze Breath with their bonus actions/turn. •Attack stacks with Wonder Woman, but not until he falls, giving the opponent some time to breathe, while giving your team a potential boost to turn the tides if she has markers left. •Plastic Man, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Red Tornado can make it difficult on the opponent to focus on Superman first, taking on wounds to then boost his attack. •John will allow the save off the X, keeping someone filled with wounds hanging in there for Superman to capitalize on. They’ll all appreciate the Attack and d20 boost upon Superman’s death, as that’s what the faction has been built to value most. Sort of solidifies them as the core trinity. While I do like this one to a degree, it does feel like it keeps him in the "initial send out shark" role that JL Clark was kinda already in. It does feel weird that this version would be the only Kryptonian not to have some semblance of a defensive power on his card without any real stat change to compensate, but I recognize you're trying to bring costs down so probably not anything can be done there. |
