Character Bio - Teenager Kong Kenan was a bit of a bully for most of his life. After standing up to the villain Blue Condor a bit instinctually while on the news, he was selected by the Ministry of Self Reliance. The Ministry imbued him with the powers of the deceased Superman, giving him the powers of the Man of Steel. However, Kenan's powers worked a bit differently, as he had to learn to tap into his powers via the Tao Te to access them.

After mastering this and synchronizing with a mystic artifact, he has come to embody the principles of Yin and Yang. His team, the Justice League China, acts independently from the Ministry of Self Reliance.

Dropped Defense by 1.

Went with the swapped ordering/combining of power I put up at the end to get it all more feeling like an offense/defense pairing and hopefully reducing how much it feels like powers 1 and 4 are the go-tos. I do see that I need to tweak wording on Zhèn and Duì as he's supposed ignore LEAs as well there.

Looks like a solid direction. Is there an English translation to the power names? I'm just curious what they mean or if they stand for something specific.

English translation is the eight programs of the Tao Te. The names are just like Mountain, Earth, Marsh, etc. They caused a fair bit of confusion on some things (Like Marsh being Super Breath) so I felt like the Chinese names was a better route to convey theme without simultaneously confusing theme.

How would you translate that? The issue I ran into was that trying to ignore in defense you ran into "ignoring" special attacks and it got weird.

Only make it work on normal attacks. That's a standard Kryptonian thing so it checks thematically that way too.

The hyphen made me excited that LV was designing a Spider-Man. Cool design but I’m still let down…

So the first half of it is about his ability to penetrate magical illusions with his vision. He's basically a mystical Kryptonian, rather than a normal one. Its supposed to represent his Super Hearing there, and honestly ignoring a special power on a normal attack feels like a fairly significant drop in terms of useability A lot of "attack powers" are questionably divorced from the attack so you'd have to divorce it from the "for that attack" wording to a "till the end of the turn" to make it feel nearly as functional.

For clarification:

Super Strength and Invulnerability:
•Gèn and Kūn: Add 2 to Super-Man's attack and 1 to his defense. Super-Man gains the Super Strength special power.

Flight and Heat Vision
•Qián and Lí: Add 3 to Super-Man's Range and while he can use his Flying special power, he is always considered to have height advantage on non-flying figures.

Super Breath and Super Speed
•Zhèn and Duì: You may immediately move an adjacent figure one space. Figures moved in this way never take leaving engagement attacks. After rolling defense for Super-Man, you may immediately move him up to 3 spaces.

X-Ray/Mystical Piercing Vision and Super Hearing
•Kǎn and Xùn: When attacking with Super-Man, choose one of the defending figure's special powers to negate for the rest of that attack. When defending against a normal attack from a figure that moved 1 or more spaces this turn, add an automatic shield to whatever is rolled.

Well, you had to go and design Spider-Boy, the design that I totally would have loved to do lol. Might have to jump to Spider-Boy 2099 to get one in there.
